WARNING... IPOD TOUCH and IPHONE Video Out R NOT COMPATIBLE with Avic D3

Just found this out the hard way, tried to watch videos from my ipod touch with the new CD-i200 Ipurchased, and it doesn't work.. I checked the avic forums, and sure enough, everyone has that problem...

It will work if you get the Apple A/V cord, but then you have to give up your A/V input on the rear of the D3... which for me defeats the entire purpose of having the CD-i200!

The music interface works just fine, but the video won't show when you switch it to video!

what are you using your video inputs for now?, and if its that big of a deal i'm sure you could use RCA splitter, not the best quality picture, however i don't think it matters on a 7" screen.

I just read the specs on it and it says nothing about video, so why would you assume it would?

Doesn't matter what I'm using my video inputs for, but they are occupied... furthermore, if you re-read the specs on the D3, it CLEARLY states that you can get ipod video with the use of the cd-i200, so I'm not sure where you got that from. http://www.pioneerelectronics....tab=B

I'm pretty well versed on car audio/video and wasn't looking for someone's explanation on how I could/should setup my system... I'm simply letting folks know that their ipod touch won't show video using the cd-i200

Yeah the Ipod VIDEO works just fine with that interface. The iphone and the touch made it to market well after those parts were available. Your going to have to use the mini out into an av cable on the back of the D3.

yeah, that's what i figured out from the avic411 forum... the problem is, that defeats the purpose of the CD-i200, you feel me? In that case, I could have used an ipod/A/V out from the beginning, but I will be losing the ipod interface capabilities of the cd-i200...

apparently, apple changed its firmware for all of the newer ipods/iphones to disable video out on its devices, unless it is hooked up through an apple cable! I don't know if this is true or not, I'm gonna head to my local installer and see if their Kenwood ipod interfact will allow video out!

another reason apple should eat itself... I dont like any of their products (not because of their function, just because of the way they do business)... For instance... yesterday shopamex had a digital hd camcorder (super sweet) retail of $1100... "special 1 week secret sale" price of 274.... yada yada yada... apple sends me a confirmation with a INFERIOR CAMERA... (std bait and switch) i called them out on it... and the best they would do is give me a coupon for $40 off $300.... hah...

Id figure out a way to hardwire a classic GB (not group buy lol) before i brought one of these euro plastic players (ahem, an ipod) in my sweet ride!
