I got a 92 KA auto, ive searched this topic for about an hour and couldn find anything relative to my problem.
My s13 will start fine when its cold, but when i drive it for about 10 min and get out and try turning it on, nothing... It turns over but either takes me holding the gas down and the key turnt for about 5 min, or letting it cool for 30 min.
Also when i do it started it idles between 1k- 1.7k. Ive done multiple things to solve this problem witch includes: Cleaning the throttle body, iacv, EGR valve, checking vaccum lines, MAF, FPR and none FIXED it just helped start better cold.
When i pull it out of park it tries to die on me unless i hold it at about 3k then drop it in drive, which it dosen even burn out(not trying to) jus putts and then takes off. So i have to use two feet at every stop.
Just last night i went through these little rituals and when i was driving it didnt want to shift gears, it lost power in the middle of crusing at 50 Mph. then inorder to gain power id haft to floor it. When i reached my destination i got out to my car smoking, (not low oil just changed it) and its possibly from the brakes not sure. my temp gauge was normal, im just absolutely stomped no idea what to check.
My step dad thinks it could be the catalic converter, considering it messes up most when its hot. Hes a mechanic and hes getting stressed out by it too, so any help or ideas would be greatly appriciated.
Thx for reading, Slismo
P.S.- iunno if this matters but when i try to turn on the A/C it seems to act up even more. even after i turn it back off it still messes up worse so i gotta let it sit before it will act like it was before i turned on the A/C
