Hi everyone,

I have been wanting an Infiniti G35 coupe for a long time now. I only have a budget of about max. $13k (would like to get one cheaper so I am not maxed out). So from what I have seen that will only get me an 2005 or possibly a 2006 with around 100,000 to 130,000 km's.

I live in Ontario Canada therefore we have winters. My ultimate goal would be to have the G35 as a summer car and pick up an inexpensive SUV for winter however that will probably not happen for the first winter I own the G35.

I also do about 30,000 to 35,000 km's a year driving with my job.

My questions are.....

1.) Are there any concerns for G35 Coupes years 2003 - 2006 for maintenance issues when they reach higher mileage (120,000, 150,000 km's plus) I should watch out for?

2.) In reality, what is the fuel mileage like for highway vs. city driving?

3.) Has anyone driven the G35 Coupe in the winter? If so, is it a basket case?

Basically, I really like these cars and but am concerned about maintenance issues for higher mileage cars and fuel mileage as I drive about 35000 km's / year.

Thanks very much and any feedback would be really appreciated.

Andrew

1) 03's with the 6spd manuals can have transmission issues/ 06's have oil consumption issues so you may find a few that have replaced motors

2) you will realistically see between 20-22 city/24-26 hwy

3)they aren't bad. having good tires will make the biggest difference. That and how you drive. In serious snow, ice, etc. I wouldn't want to be anything but a 4x4.

G35's are great cars! Definitely a good choice. As with any car, make sure its in great shape. Take it to a mechanic, and make sure you get a good deal. There are a lot of people out there who like to rip folks off. Every car with higher mileage is going to need some TLC. You may be able to find a 04-05 with under 100K miles for between $13-15k, though I really don't know the Canadian market that well...

Good luck and hope you get what you're wanting!
