So from my understanding there has been previous issues with older Rogue models vibrating. I know the 2015-16 is a new design, but am still hearing that these vehicles are still vibrating. Does anyone know of any fixes that worked to stop the vibrating or what is causing it? Apparently Nissan says it is part of the design, which I frown upon because it sounds pretty terrible in the older videos. I can't find a new video for the new models vibrating, so I don't know how bad it is.

If you own a Rogue and have encountered this, were you able to find out the cause, able to fix it or do you just drive it like it is? And how often and when does it exactly occur?

Again, I can't find much information about the newer models, only that it still vibrates. (And as to where it vibrates, I don't know except a lot of people are saying it is super common with these cars). I took one out for a test drive and it drove beautifully. Most people say they don't notice till about 1k miles after.

I really want this car, it literally has all the functions I would love. However, I need to convience my husband this would be a good choice. I am not sure if the vibration is fixable and if it is a make it /break it thing?

yes, but its not that big of a deal, if you simply ignore it. nothing is broken ,its just a bad design in some ways.
engine vibrates due to programeed low rpm to keep fuel economy down.
transmission vibrates like crazy due to cvt being a belt driven transmission versus gear driven transmission.
a/c compressor is a steel plate design, versus cork clutch-pack
strange half-shaft axle design on the passenger side.
I know the 2015-16 is a new design,
its just lipstick on a pig

there are no fixes miss. there is nothing wrong with the car - its just a poor design. its like being born with 1 leg an inch shorter than the other one. there is no fix, just learn to get around it lol

if there was a fix - nissan would fix the cars. there is no fix.

you wont notice it, because you're in the honeymoon phase. you'll notice in about 3 months (all the weird quirks that its).

let me convince you of something: as someone who has moderated this forum for many years, i have seen waaaay to many issues with:
cvt transmissions were replaced on like 30%-50% of all rogues
poor a/c hardly cools the cabin
poor heater hardly heats the cabin
horrid brake issues due to small/light weight braking components used to shed weight to increase MPG. brakes wear and calipers seize way to often(prematurely)
crappy build = rocking seats, cheap plastic, door seals let in whistles, etc.
freezing navigation/infotainment system
rattling in the cabin from rear bench seats
front right axle going bad around 75,000
etc etc etc.

ill rename the thread so that its not infringing on prior open threads - as i see you simply need some advice as to buy this car or not.

my vote: go test drive a hyundai santa fe or kia sorento. after owning many nissans & infiniti's - i bought both new santa fe & sorento. talk about an amazingly built cars. idk what happened to nissan, but it seems after 2004 everything started going downhill.

I always say, if you have concerns about a vehicle you probably shouldn't buy it.

That said, it's wise to remember most people who post in forums only post about the problems. Happy owner's are not nearly motivated to write. Therefor, forums often give a skewed view.

I've owned 2 Toyota Tacoma's (which many think are great) and both were terrible. I've owned 3 Jeep Wranglers (historically bad) and didn't have any issues.

You just never know but if you are concerned, buy something else.

If this is an older vehicle the vibration could be coming from a bad tire, if this is a new vehicle and it vibrates go buy something else. I personally don't like the cvt transmission a 6 sp manual would make this an awesome vehicle. Better fuel economy, more power, more reliable transmission and just plain fun to drive.

After owning my rogue for almost a year now I am quite happy with it........very comfortable ride, quiet, excellent gas mileage, good value for the money.....a real pleasure to drive and most importantly my wife loves it. As for vibrating I am not aware of it even though if someone else owned my vehicle perhaps they would disagree. I always thought this was more of a Honda issue than a Nissan issue. I suggest next time you are at a gas station or shopping mall and you see someone with a rogue just ask them their opinion. Also check out consumer reports for their opinion when it comes to comparing vehicles.

I have a 2011 Rogue, and while it has never left me stranded the quality leaves much to be desired. It was built in Japan, which for some is the holy grail of car manufacturing countries. I have had many quality issues, and will probably forget some: rust after year 2 on the hatch bubbling through the paint, a radio that will switch the station randomly when car is first turned on, a seat that rocks/creaks every time you stop and accelerate, a bumper that had paint peel off, a bumper that was damaged from the factory (cuts were all jagged on it), hatch struts that only raise the hatch half way when it is freezing outside.

Some I have had repaired under warranty, others there is no way I would let them touch those pieces for fear of further issues.

Overall, I would not recommend Nissan because of such poor quality. I have owned many vehicles and never seen this many defects.

With your specific question - if your husband is on the fence about it, I would back away. It is important both of you are on the same page because when you have problems there may be a tendency to say "Well that's what you get for picking CAR X". There will always be SEVERAL vehicles with the features you are looking for, unless you are looking for something that is just so cutting edge (like Ford doing the parallel parking for you) it seems you will have other choices.

Gee, I feel left out. 2012 rogue, 120K miles, and I've never had any of those problems. Did I get an anti lemon? :)

did you physically inspect under your car, or are you relying upon a mechanic?

many mechanics will routinely not mention a potential problem brewing, in hopes it fully goes to where you wont be able to say "I'll fix it next time".
