I have a 91 nissan 240 sx it has 170, on the clicker and I've had it since 94'. The thing is I would not want a SR swop seeing how I will be keeping the car forever. I think about the future and will the parts be avalible then. I beleive i would be better off with sticking to the KA. My plans for now is to drop a grad labor and parts in the top end. Blue polish and blue printing the heads (swans gold). Adding whatever it takes to get it ready for heavy boost in the future. Right now it's my daily driver until I get new. I plan on racing it in the future. (drifting) So, once again building top end for daily driven car but future plans on turbo, so Idon't have to take it apart again. I would like to know if anyone had a great deal of succsess with a KA??? Thank You for your help. and since I found other 240 owns I'll be here awhile

I would just build up another KA and drive the one you have now. If you're gonna put all the cash into the top end you're going to have to go with forged internals to make it worth while. Cylinder head porting is only going to improve flow and move your power band up in the rpm range. You'll need forged internals to get there reliably.

Agreed. KA's are cheap, just get a new one, rebuild, and build up for high boost

might as well get a 3" stainless cat back exhaust system theyre relatively cheap and wont rust so you can reuse it later.

Thank you. That's what I'm looking for. I have a friend to take the motor apart. His friend is going to blue print it and polish it. Then Swans gold it. this is all going to happen with in a weeks time. My friend taking it apart what's to have me give him everything I need to put it back together. While doing the head He is also going to change my head gasket.( i would like to know what to go with). Changing the inturnals. ( would like to know what to go with). Changing the valve cover gasket. ( would like to know what to go with). I also have a friend who owns a parts shop. ( Cars In Affex) He can get me what ever I need. That is why I am asking around. I want to know if anyone on here has created a KA motor and what they did or would do to improve on it. I don't want another motor. I had the chance when my friend did a SR swap and it was mine for free but I want matching #'s. I hope your getting all this. LOL!!! See I want to start before it gets to nasty out. ( weather that is )1. Valve Cover Gasket What kind 2. Head Gasket What kind3. Inturnals all aluminum What kind4. Everything you know was done that was good and even someone who thinks something else would be better. I just want to do it right so I don't have to spend the money to do it again. Remember I will not be adding a turbo till I buy a new car, but still want to have the right set up so when I do that's all I have to worry about. I hope I'm not boring you I just what you to understand I ergency. Thank You. By the way how do I get a picture on here. The stuff I have done to the car.1. Intake K&N2. Cat back exaust Borla 2 1/23. Port and polished Throtale body over bore4. Shocks and struts eibach springs and kyb 8 way5. Brake up grade Power Slot Grooved and Green Stuff Pads6. Once this is done headers and chip if needed. Thank You Rob

VC Gasket - Autozone brand, whatever they have (doesn't matter, its just a piece of rubber)Headgasket - Don't know, never had to replace oneInternals - Forged. http://www.ka24det.com

Things to be done - Port and polish the head and intake mani. Port match the gaskets. Tubular turbo manifold will usually give you the best performance. Mild cam upgrade, let turbo take care of the top end. Intake is fine. Catback...no. Run 3in from the turbo back. ECU upgrade will be needed, whether it be a JWT reflash, to an AEM EMS, you're going to have to upgrade.

I'm basing everything off your other posts saying that you wanted to turbo your KA.

What kind of headgasket do you want? Stock or stainless steel. Cometic makes a great stainless steel one, you also might want to check the effects if you detonate really bad with a metal headgasket. You might want to start searching and looking at the KA-T section, that where all us KA turbo people hang out. Also check out the forums at http://www.ka-t.org. Good luck. Nick

ok were getting somewhere. Thank you guys for your time. I would like to know Names of companys for the inturnals Like cran cams of eagles rods things of that nature and nick your talking about the the computer upgrades after the tubo and not before right. i should be ok with the work on the top end without the turbo not needing a computer upgrade. Net just and old valve cover gasket will be fine? Not haveing to worry about the boost later? Next the other nick said something about metle head gasket detonation? What would you advise? Thanks Again?
