I just ordered my new cd player to go into my J30, and of course that wasn't enough. Now im looking at my Bose(stock) system and wondering if it's about time to upgrade. Normally i wouldn't touch such high quality stock parts, but the rear speakers are starting to crumble under too much stress, so im thinking the owner before me liked to crank the music a little high. Anyhoo, it seems blindingly obvious that i should buy Infinity speakers(hey come on, it just makes sense), i beleive they are very high quality, and the Kappa series sounds terrific. My question is this, is swapping out the bose speakers just like swapping out any other speakers to a car? Or will i have to re-route wires? Im also a little nervous about the best way to remove the speaker covers from my car, i don't see any simple way to get them off.(I use to drive a civic alright, im ashamed, but the speakers there were cheaply screwed in via a plastic cover....awk!)

hey...i just put new speakers (the kappas) in my J about a month ago. I had no previous experience and it was fairly easy to do. Use these instrucions for removing the door panels and headunit. http://carstereohelp.com/stere...k.htmAre you planning on using an amp to power the speakers? I think it is strongly reccomended by everyone to use more power than what the HU gives out. Its not very difficult at all to install any of this. To get the speaker covers off just put a flat head screw driver in there and pop them up and pull them off. What kappa speakers are you getting? Check out http://www.thezeb.com and http://www.ikesound.com you can price match from thezeb with ikesound and get a very good deal on the speakers. If you have AIM just contact me: moffatt7291

that helps a lot, i was wondering if i should use a screwdriver or not. But im just nervous about fiddling in my new car :). Thanks for all of the info, im not really sure about an amp. If i did get one it would have to be phoenix gold since i heard so many good things, than i would have to find a place to put it. Im planning on getting Infinity Kappa 6x9's, not sure about specific types, kind of thought there were only ones. I suppose i have a little more research to do.

Tando, I have the kappa 6-1/2" component set and it sounds 10000 times better than stock setup. I already had a new mp3/cd player HU in and the speakers, amp, and wiring cost about 430 bucks total. Check out thezeb.com or ikesound.com for the speakers. I got a US acoustics amp 85Wx4ch and it sounds great...got it from crutcfield because it was only 11 bucks more and had a 3 year warranty. Let me know if you have any other quetions: [email protected] or AIM moffatt7291
