Hey guys,

My drivers front tire blew out and shredded along the highway. It took out my debris shield and hacked into my wiring harness.

I am in the process of trying to salvage what's left, but it isn't looking to bright.
I have taped over the exposed wires, at least the ones that were still in tact.

There's is about 15 wires that I will need to reconnect. The only problem is that 7 of the broken wires have the exact same color and stripe combo. (I am going to try to start it with these disconnected)

Anyways, anyone have an extra harness tucked away? I am open to all suggestions and comments.

Will get pictures later,

Thanks guys!

All suggestions?
I ran into this when trimming some interior harness for the racecar, its possible there was a grouped ground or power where they all go to the same place, you may need to expose a larger section to look for a junction splice.

Any chance it was a blueish with a red stripe?

Oh, if I remember the wires under the drivers front fender are primarily front lighting, I will look today as the whole thing is torn apart for rod bearings.. Daytona prep, May 27th for 14 hours on the Rolex course Woot!!

Note: passenger front fender is the ABS/wiper, the main engine harness never leaves the engine bay and tucks in behind the ABS pump to join the interior.

Oh #2 check your fuses after every start or lighting attempt, you likely will need several replacements.

Ok guys, a little electrical tape goes a long ways. After removing the fender I was able to tackle the tack @ hand.... Turns out my common color coded wires just seemed to be individual grounds. Replaced fuses (hood: starter; drivers: stop lamp)

Everything seems to be working... That is until it gets wet. How should I seal this all up? Any better suggestions an electrical tape and split loom?

Boy is it a mess.... Still would be interested in a new harness.

Good deal, unless you want to cut each wire you just repaired, solder and hear shrink you are stuck with lots of tape, wrap tightly and the water will not be issue, its salt.. (if you live where its common)Only a couple hours,it should be just as good and easier then locating and replacing the entire harness.
