the piston pin hole, as per the FSM is 19.987-19.989mr2erdave wrote:Hi thank you for the quick reply and being honest im using them in a custom engine (toyota) so I have no ballpark what range they go for would you happen to know piston pin diameter? my rods are 20mm but I can bore and bush them if need be 22mm Thanks so muchDavid
I'm going to prove this and we can solidify it as factual. The stock CA18DET pistons are good for 500 peak hp and you can drive around daily with 400whp as long as you have the fuel management to keep performance optimal. I am going to build an S13 that will produce in excess of 400whp. This car is to be sold once the experiment is done, so you guys that want big power, sell your car because I'm going to assemble an extremely reliable 400+whp CA18DET power 240sx.float_6969 wrote:I won't say that the stock, cast, CA18DET pistons aren't good to 400+HP, but I'd have to see it to believe it. The general concensus that they're good for around the 300-350hp mark.
Dave, from the top of the piston to the center of the piston's pin roughly around 29.40mm. Let me know if this is in your ballpark and I'll drop you an email (Even though I emailed you before on this topic).mr2erdave wrote:Sure dee let me know I heard they are great for skylines i cant remember what engine (rb) but they make big h.p. numers with them like I said im a toyota guy and I dont know what they go for and I need a measurment from center of pin hole to top of crown I dont want them to be peeking out of the cylinder wall 4 inches take caredavid
