Azenis: stiff side wall, loud, provide excellent dry grip, heavy tires, cheap, wear quick.

Potenza S03: stiff side wall, not loud, excellent dry grip, light weight, expansive, wear quick.

Kuhmo Ecsta 712: stiff side wall, loud, good dry grip, still heavy, good overall, last for a long time, cheap too.

RE92: somehow grip but soft side wall, grip, cheap.

Yokohama A032R: very stiff side wall, loud, very gripy, expansive.

Yokohama AVS: soft side wall, quiet, overall good, not in production.

Just my thought.

Bridgestone RE71's. Loud. Poor resistance to heat cycling at the track. Grips very well first time used at a track. But the rubber got baked pretty good and became a fast wearing tire with grip like that of tires on a Tercel. Easy to control with gradual loss of traction. Poor wear.

Bridgestone RE730: I had some limited time(3 weeks) with these on a 450HP Supra. Moderate road noise(not really moticable with an exhaust). Tons of Grip. Predictable handling. Good wear. Haven't had any track time on these though, so I can't speak for track durability. But considering it held all that power with only some wheelspin occassionally(I drove with the traction control off), I'd say it's not to shabby.

Yokohama A520: Gets louder as it wears down. Good heat cycling characteristics. Good grip. Good control. Mediocre to poor wear. Stiff ride, but good response.

BF Goodrich G-Force(before the KD/KDWs): Great straight line grip. Pretty good lateral grip but sacrifices response for gradual loss of traction. Wear is average. Wet traction is pretty good. Still running these so I'm not sure how that might change with wear. Has not seen the track yet.

I'd personally like to see some data on the Yokohama ES100's. Supposed to be a replacement for the A520's. Little bit less grip from what I hear, but much quieter and much better wear. Not a bad sacrifice, especially considering the price and wide range of sizes.

hmm, Toyo T1-S: best all around performance tire from Toyo so far. road noise level acceptable, superior cornering grip, good wear rate, good wet traction, stiff yet very responsive tire. A good competitor with Mich Pilot series and Goodyear Eagle F1 series, where similar sizes/applications meet.

Toyo T1 Plus: availability not good, road noise loud, grip is excellent, wear rate is not good, sidewall very stiff, basically old school technology by today's standards.

Toyo FZ4: affordable "performance" tire, lots of road noise, grip is fair, wear rate is fair, wet traction is non-existent, stiff ride, not as responsive as other "affordable" models.

Toyo RA-1: 8/32 or order 4/32 original tread depth. treadwear 40? yikes. DOT legal auto-x/race tire. excellent cornering and straight line grip, terrible wear rate, wet traction is a joke, regardless of what the press says. Don't use these on the street.

Toyo Z800 Ultra: excellent treadwear rating(700), excellent corner and straight line grip in OEM sizes. very little road noise, very good wet traction. OEM replacement of choice.

I went about 15k miles on S03's on my WRX (with a good alignment) and I was about halfway down. I sold them (along with my wheels), but I suspect I could have gotten away with another 10-15k before a new set would be needed and at least 18-20k before getting bald. Also, I don't know who told you they were not loud, but they are on drugs. Those tires were pretty damn loud. Lastly, they gripped great in the rain for me...light or heavy...

Well, all of mine are from my car, and for racing...These will all fit on stock rims.

BFGoodrich Comp T/A (Replaced by the new G-Force Drag Radials)225/50/15Great drag tires, but need to be heated slightly. Overheating results in a slippery surface that will not hook up on the street.

Nitto 555R Drag Radials225/50/15Really not as good as people say. These tires do much better on FWD cars, and make little to no difference over a normal street tire on any car without LSD. These tires must be heated extensively, and they cannot be overheated. (Burn them up)

Mickey Thompson ET Streets26x10.5x15These are full drag tires for the street. The best traction for the straight line with a DOT approval. Heat moderately, and launch at a low RPM if a 5 speed. These tires are notorious for destroying rear differentials on non LSD cars. These tires are useless in water of any kind (yes, even mist).

Mickey Thompson ET Drags26x8x15These are the widest all out drag slicks that can be run on stock rims. These tires have no water grooves, and will get you pulled over on the street. They have great traction, but again tend to break weak rearends.

Exar, in response to your comments, yes, I have owned many sets of various toyo models, as i work for a shop that sells the brand. I've also spent countless hours test driving, diagnosing, and troubleshooting customer complaints with respect to ride harshness, road noise, etc. My point being, I have owned most models, and have clocked many hours worth of test drive time on all Toyo models.

Not included on that list were the 65K mile Toyo Spectrum, treadwear rating of 580, traction A, temp B. Same basic design as the Toyo Ultra, essentially cheaper rubber, therefore less mileage. Traction is good for what you're paying. Again, this is an OEM size replacement.

Also, I must mention the Toyo Z-1. Treadwear 300, traction A, temp A. Although outdated and considered archaic by today's standards, this tire was a pioneer when plus sizing became the rage. Still available, but too much money for not enough performance.

The Toyo TPT is available in touring sizes, and has a treadwear rating of 400, traction A, temp A. Another good all around unit, giving excellent wet and dry traction, cornering lacks the same responsiveness as other high performance touring tires, as the main goal of this tire was to fill Toyo's need for a reasonably priced tire in touring sizes/applications.

All add some new reviews after I get my car back together (stupid transmission again). I've got some Falken Azeni's and some Yokohama 540's in the garage for testing :)
