Used is such a bad choice on such a critical, known wear item on a Q-especially when you can buy brand new from Joe at I.O.S. for around $235

I recently replaced mine and found out that it is the control module and not the fuel pump, I still have the old one but as Tech said I would highly recommend you get a OEM one from Scottsdale Infiniti.

The fuel pump control module usually doesn't survive owners allowing fuel pumps to slow enough, and overheat and fail...................

Be sure to hand clean the bottom of fuel tank and change fuel filters frequently if you want to extend time between pump replacements.

The typical failure is that the high current draw from a failing pump kills the control unit. So if your controller fails, it's usually due to a bad pump. Replace the controller without replacing the pump and you have a good chance of toasting the new controller. I know you said you replaced both... I'm just putting this here in case someone reads this in the future.

Check out the old posts (search FPCU, Fuel Pump, Fuel Pump Control Unit) in Infiniti Online Mechanic, Infiniti General, and the Q45 Forums. You can ground the FP on a temporary basis to get it running while you wait for your new pump and new or used FPCU. There are also some threads on repairing the FPCU if you're good with a soldering iron.

Why compromise performance, when Joe has the correct Infiniti pump for $235,which should give you 100,000 + miles use if you clean tank upon installation and change fuel filters annually.

Best to order 4-5 fuel filters when you order a new pump, serves as a constant, friendly reminder on your shelf to service them annually.

Walbro is almost a $150 savings over OEM and they have good rep. Actually the guys on the VH/VK forum recommend them. Thats why.

Foolish move to use anything but factory fuel pump.....Walblo is not a special design 3 speed pump like factory part

The only thing that makes it a 3-speed is the controller which can be bypassed.

Obviously you haven't learned from your mistakes.
