I'm looking for a used oil pump from an early VH45 motor along with a pickup strainer.

Apparently, while being completely blocked up, my strainer screen ripped open under the suction of the oil pump allowing large debris into the pump.

If anyone has a core or junk engine sitting around with a good pump and strainer, I would be interested.

Thanks!!!! Kirk

I don't have one... but I'd sure think in terms of new parts on that one... especially the oil pump. That's a pretty important part!

Important yes, but this isn't your $19.95 garden variety small block oil pump. These will easily run 300k miles+ unless like this one, it swallows hardened steel gear teeth. Besides the gouges, this one with 127k shows no wear whatsoever.Few of these engines are rebuilt and few of those get new pumps. The pump is specific to the engine and the engine to this car. Very, very few are sold so dealers are very proud of them when it comes to priceing.

Anything with less miles and in good condition will be just fine.

If anyone has a motor they're parting, a post or e-mail would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!! Kirk

Whoa, I missed that part of the saga. Metal gearteeth? How in the world? I thought it just ate pieces of nylon guide.

I wish!!When the guides went, a T-chain took out the oil pump chain, sprockets, front cover tab and butchered the front of the pump and bolt heads. They replaced the front cover and the parts but left all the pieces in the pan.
