Wanted: 1995 Q45 Rear Driver's Side Window Glass Needs Replacing.

Someone broke the glass window on the left side passenger's door. (The large piece window that moves up and down, not the smaller rear non moving piece.) Having a tough time finding a replacement. Seems to be a dealer only part. The Infiniti dealer here in New Orleans even sent me to a local shop-until the shop said that the dealer might have to get the part. I also called a dealer in California. The replacement prices were $400-500 (yet a replacement front windshield was only $200 from the local car glass shop). Anybody know of any other sources? Cannot find one from a salvage yard locally nor from some of the internet parts sites that I have checked. A local shop can install replacement glass (new or used) for $75-100. I do think that I need any other parts; probably just the glass. I would be willing to buy a used part for a reasonable price. Even better if with original tinting :)

I am not certain, but I think the glass is the same on 1994, 1995 and 1996 Infiniti Q45 sedans, but not 1991, 1992, nor 1993 cars. Anyone know of someone parting out a 94-96 Q45?

Thanx in advance.

A search at car-part.com brought up a few for $75, with no specified costs for shipping (I assume $30-$50?).

Be sure you get the right color. Black and gray cars have gray glass. Green has green. Ivory and gold have brown. Really!

Also, although they look alike 90-93 's have thinner glass than 94-96. Be sure you hold out for the right part- and only use it if it says Nissan!

And, a $200 windshield is nothing at all like the Nissan original! All quality glass is made by a very few companies:

PPGCarlite- VisteonPilkington Brothers-Sigla-LOFSt Gobain-SecuritAsahi-Total

Look at any OE windshield and you will see these names.

and the rest is, well, "other"
