Hey everyone. I have a quick question. I have a 2011 Nissan rogue, SV edition, it has the six speakers, not the bose system with the smaller color screen head unit. I wanted to upgrade the head unit to the bose SL edition head unit, the one with navigation and the larger screen. Is this possible? Will it fit? And if so where could I buy just that stock head unit? Thanks so much everyone!

Welcome to the NICOClub Rogue forums matron820!

To answer your question: You cannot simply swap head units. The BOSE system uses an external amplifier and a different wiring harness. A successful swap would require swapping nearly all of the audio components and the harness. This is neither cheap nor easy to do.

IMHO, you would be better off to upgrade your head unit with a quality aftermarket unit. The Rogue is blessed with a Double DIN sized radio so there is a huge selection of head units to choose from. I particularly like Kenwood units as they use Garmin's excellent nav interface and maps.

Expect to pay from $600-$1000 for an aftermarket Nav unit depending on options.

BTW, if you think this is expensive, a replacement Nissan head unit with NAV costs $3100!

Sorry, one more question. If I buy a third party head unit like a kenwood, will it still work with my rear view camera and my center console usb port?

Many of the Kenwood units have backup camera inputs. It will take some doing to sort out the factory wiring for the camera and adapt it to the Kenwood HU.

The USB port is a similar deal, just figure out the wiring and connect to the USB port on the Kenwood deck. Alternatively, just run a new/separate USB cable.

All the wiring diagrams you need can be found in the manual here: AV.pdf

You'll need to check the specs to verify if a particular unit has the capability.

Fortunately, most backup cameras use standard NTSC signals so interfacing is simple. If you're unsure about tackling this yourself, a good car audio installer can help.
