Want to swap my CA with a KaDet.

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

wow! you must not be so bright... Why would you wanna pull a CA motor for a KA24de that which you have to do more work to make it turbo and spend more money.

besides CA18DET is a better motor that you can build up better than spending way much more money for making the ka24de turbo.

Thanks . The guy who was selling me this car told me it was a SOHC CA motor, but theres no such thing right? So it must be a KA24E SOHC. Car is a 91. Am I understanding this right now.

okay well yeah there is a such thing as sohc CA which some are turbo and some not.... but if your sure it's a sohc CA18 your talking about then yeah I would ditch that motor and go DOHC CA18 swap or KA24DE as you wish.

SOHC CA18 - ditch itSOHC ka24e - ditch itDOHC CA18 - keep it if thats what you if your unsure of what it is.DOHC ka24de - Be spending a lot more cash and time making it turbo.

Ok thanks alot. The picture of the KaE looks almost identical to what he showed me. The only other way i can verify this is by the Vin number right?

There is a metal tag mounted on teh passenger side of the firewall in the engine bay that will have the model number of the motor on it.

But I dont know that the 240sx ever came with a CA series motor stock.....
