Hello, I am new to the board. I just bought an 08 Maxima SE and I would like to do some simple bolt on type mods. I need to try to not void the warranty if possible. I was thinking of doing a cold air and performance chip. What do you guys reqomend ? thanks. Ohh yah, it has that cvt transmission Thanks in advance.

Oh and cn someone tell me how to post pics?

Posting pics is pretty easy. Follow Zee's tutorial.zerothread/254009

As far as bolt ons, an intake is a good start. It will give you a couple of HP, a nicer sound, and makes the engine bay look sweet.

AS far as chips, stick to Dorito's. The "chips" in the Nissan ECU is hard soldered, and you can't buy chipsets for it. You can have it reflashed by a reputable company like Jim Wolf Technology, or Technosquare. That will also give you a few extra ponies, but better to do that after all the mods are done.

Beancooker said it best, and Technosquare has reflashed all the versions (trannies) of the 6th gen except the CVT, I'm not aware of anyone taking them one as of yet.

I think anything aftermarket other than Nismo will mess up you waranty. Talk to your dealer though. I could be wrong. But just quiclky looking at their site. It looks like you can get a Nismo Cold air settup, perf cam shafts, lightweight wheels. lots.

What i dont understand is why some of the engine things they have for the 350 and Altima arent available for the Maxima. Even though its the same engine?
