Nope. Its just something I want to do. I like the look of cars with fog lights. I like the extra illumination on these dark, sparse Wyoming roads.

I still appreciate all the input! I'm gonna get me some foggies one way or another!!

Speaking of fog, we've had a lot of fog in the mornings and evenings here in LA. Very unusual for the city, and I haven't seen this much fog in years. I guess fog lights would come in handy. I would much rather have a good set of HIDs, though.

FOOD?? Yeah, I like a lot of food in the mornings too. Especially a 3 egg omelette with extra bacon and tons of cheese! And don't forget the side of hotcakes with haupia syrup! YUMMY!!

D-Roll, was the directions and pics easy enough to follow? I was looking at the post again, and thought that I didn't take enough pics along the way. It was a rush job because of the rain, but I may go back in next weekend to clean up my wiring and drill the ballast brackets into my frame just to have it secured. Just wondering if I needed to take any more pics beside the passenger mounting point? Of course, weather permitting that is.
Yes very easy bro! All I need to see are the pics

So Friday I plan on looking one more time. If there is no harness, I will contact my service department and find out how much it would cost to get a wire/harness job done. I don't feel like doing the electrical....I'll let them do that; then I'll install the fog lights myself.

This is what I get for wanting a stock look, but being too cheap to upgrade packages!! Stupid Nissan and their package upgrade restrictions!

I can't imagine Nissan not having the harness in there. It doesn't make sense not to do that. Keep looking. I installed OEM fog lights on both my 02 Pathfinder and my 06 Altima 2.5. I did it mostly for looks by the way. Both vehicles were pre-wired for fogs. It was a dead easy job. If they did it back in 2002, then surely they do it now.

That's what I keep thinking. I found them in mine, which is a 3.5 though. But, it doesn't make any logical sense not to have them pre-wired. What if someone wanted to upgrade their 2.5 with fogs? Is Nissan going to have their techs wire that many cars just to install fogs? Hmm...

Mike, look at the pics I posted so you get an idea of where they're located. I had to reach way back there to get those pics.

Hey guys, sorry for the re-post, but I found a wiring harness on the driver's side of the car. It has to be for the foglights, but its only one side of the car....it's clipped to the underside of the lower front bumper....whats up with that? Does Nissan use this method to plug both foglights into the one harness? Shouldn't there be a harness on both sides?...

Just confirmed it, the 2.5 has only one harness on one side....exactly where I found mine....goodluck with your install! BTW you're welcome for finding it, lol even though I stumbled upon it.

Even more so that doesn't make sense! Why would they wire only one side?! It's there, just tucked way behind the wheel well. The passenger side is tied up against the inner part of the body behind the bumper. At least in mine it is.

Prlwhitecoupe:

Thanks for the info! I peeked under really quick; I'm not sure if thats it yet. But will check asap.

I've been on courtestyparts.com before; but I didn't see anything that confirms that is what it is...

Hey---is it possible that is the temperature sensor or something? I don't see anything on there that would connect to my fog lights.

The pics you posted for the driver side, is that shot taken from the wheel well?i.e., were you pulling the well lining back and that is what you could see?

Does anybody know what this is? I say its the temperature sensor, but I could be wrong.

Too cold to look for harnesses today....maybe tomorrow!

These are the foglight harnesses. It's not a temp sensor

Hey what's up guys, new to this forum and have really found the threads helpful, bought the injen intake because of ya'll. I own a 3.5 sedan and I went to the dealership today and they said that my car is in fact prewired as generic stated, currently i have the oem fogs installed in the holes and i have the stalk with the fog light switch, if anyone could help me with the basic steps on the rest of the install, i'd appreciate it, thanks.

Hey man, sorry haven't checked this thread in ages. But in response to your question, the pic I had up was a pic of a harness that is located at the bottom front fascia next to where the driver's side fog light would be. It is clipped in. And it is infact a Harness not a Temp. sensor....I can tell the difference between those two. Goodluck with getting foggies installed and keep us posted; I want them too!

I'm glad you found this because I was just getting ready to do a search this weekend myself! Not sure how your going to run to set's of fog lights into one harness though??!?

I haven't tried to tackle this yet (on my to do list), but couldn't you bypass everything stock and piggyback from another power source in the engine bay and install a switch to the dash? I totally understand wanting the clean factory look, but is this not an option for some reason?

That was the route I was going to take until they discovered there actually is a wiring harness for the 2.5 which I previously read there was not. I am going to get under my car this weekend and see what's what because from what I read above there is only one wiring harness which does not make sense. (has to be one on the passenger side)

Damn Good Luck!!! I hope you can find one. I've already returned mine, but I'll buy them again if you can show me where a harness is for the 2.5!!!

generic808 wrote:I wonder if there is a difference between the 2.5 and 3.5. I have the 3.5 and as you can see above, it's there and doing well. From the inside of the well, you have to kind of reach around to the front end of the bumper. It is tied up against the inside of the body. But who knows, maybe the 2.5 doesn't have it. That really doesn't make sense though

If you look at the pic above, did you check in that area in relation to the fog cut-outs? The harness sits about the same level as the fogs, but tied onto the inside.
Ok Here is how it goes...I called Nissan headquarters and they said tht all 3.5 have them available (sedan and Coupe) and the 2.5 (Sedan and Coupe) DO NOT HAVE THEM PREWIRED...srry 2.5ers

I kind of knew that already but I guess I was in a bit of denial. Oh well. I have a sweet set of HID's so that makes up for the lack of foggies.
