I'm wanting to go e85 here soon and I was wondering what size injectors everyone runs, if everyone upgrades fuel rails, and what not. With e85 I should make over 500whp. I know Ill have to change fuel lines and all that fun stuff.

Thanks for the info

Will

You're going to need Walbro 485 pumps, 2 I think. For that power lot of people running Nismo 740CC or 850 Sards or similar. You need to get a sensor to tell you what your fuel content is, because its never exact. Really, the best solution is an aftermarket ECU that can read that % content properly and automatically adjust. Otherwise, you need to get the SZ solution that allows you to swap fuel maps on the stock ECU on the fly. It's not cheap, but once its done, its worth it. I watched a 300ZX at the SZ tune max out at 540rwhp on $14/gal racing fuel, and then hit 580rhwp on E85, which in that area is sometimes cheaper than premium. Also, there's a lot of other benefits, like lower compression, which means you can run higher boost. Also it doesn't burn as hot, which keeps the engine cooler.

Ok I already have one 485 and Im running 740cc injectors but I didn't know if I needed too get some ID 1000 or 2200 plus a fuel rail to run braided lines for the fuel system. I was going to get a aem or haltech standalone ecu if I do it. Yea the e85 sensor is almost as expensive as the ecu unfortunately. E85 is almost a full dollar cheaper and the benefits are so tempting

Keep us posted on anything you do, lots of pics and your process if possible would all be great stuff.
I myself have thought about this since we obviously will run out of oil soon enough, I'd hate to also stop being able to drive the Z...
