Post

hey Guys im James nice to meet you all...
Right now my 240 sits with no motor or trans once i figure out what im going to do motor wise then ill remove the shell and paint the frame then sand the body down to bare metal and prep it for Paint/body which by the way car has never been drifted/wrekced picked it up for $300...

so my first question is 300-350HP out of KA Cheap?/Easy? im just using the car as a weekend car/ Drift car... more drift than DD lol...
also wheres a great place to find Parts for these cars.. im trying to stay away from the SR20 just cause everyone has one but if it comes down to it id get a sr ... if you guys could help me out, that would be great

PS.. want it to be pretty reliable... and whats the cost to get to 350HP..
and whats better single or dual... my roomate bought my 92vert off my and has my Ka in his car but hes thinking about getting sr20 in a few months... so if i could use the SOHC then great if not DOHC are pretty cheap.....
sorry for all the newb questions.. but i do thank you all for your time and advice thank you

.............350hp out of a ka and still be reliable?

350hp out of a ka or sr is easy, but not cheap. With the KA you'd wanna rebuild it and turbo it, then you'll need a tune and all that good stuff. With the sr youd have to actually buy the motor and go from there. As far as sohc vs dohc, either one can do it, so whichever one you have available to you first take it. I honestly think you need to focus on getting the car itself into tip top shape and start with suspension, THEN move to the engine. if you just wanna drift you don't even need that much power. plenty of people on these boards are drifting the sh** out of their single slammers and have no problems. If you're a beginner, it's best to start with no power.

Whatever you decide, GL

:lolling: sorry man but the 240 is a unibody. you cant really "remove the shell"

you need to visit the ka-t section and do some reading. 350 is not hard to get to, but you need to be knowledgeable to do it.

go here and start reading.

cheap
reliable
fast

you can have 2 out of the 3. and suspension should take priority to power...no use having all that power if you cant handle it
