while doing my regular fluid checks, noticed the color of my ATF has gotten a little darker and should get another flush soon. my question is.....since i don't drive the Q a ton (and i think she's gettin' a little jealous of the new 325 is!!! LOL), is it really neccessary to use full synthetic (EXPENSIVE!!)????? i have the transmission cooler installed also. i think dennis uses valvoline regular ATF in his now but does regular flushes. if i keep a close eye on the color changes and flush accordingly,,,is there that much difference in using synth. vs. dino?????

The Mobil 1 ATF actually lowers transmission temperatures.

I dont know what the climate is like in Nazareth, but down here in the Lou I refuse to subject my weakling Q transmission to anything less than the best.

Pretty cheap compared to transmissions.

Most BMW feel pretty small after I pass them. Especially the big ones.

like i said,,,,the bmw is fun but my Q is true love!!!!!! since i already have the trans cooler and drive about 5k miles or less a year was just wondering if dino fluid, changed yearly, would give the same protection as synth changed every 20-30k miles. i'm sure it would. or just tell by checking the color. if the color is still the same after a year with dino, have to assume the protection is still good.......
