i'm about to purchase some 5zigen fn-01r bronze for my baby....

my questions are, can anybody verify that (front) 17X8 with a 35 offset clear tein HE's? and 17X9 with a 42 offset clear tein HE's (i don't think the 42 offest will clear, but 35 offest will, right?)

i'm looking at the wheelmax.com site .....

they have a tire package with 225/45/17 in the front and 245/45/17 in the rear.......i autocross and was thinking about the Falken Azenis or the kuhmo MX, my other question is will this be a decent tire size for the falken and MX's...?

any suggestion will be appreciated.....thanks in advance

they wont clear the front, for sure, at least not with any decently wide tire worth running on that wheel.

get a 27mm and a 35mm (front and rear) thaat would be much better suited for the car...

but I always gotta question why people run split offsets. search around, hers bountifull information on THAT EXACT wheel setup, in fact, theres probably a thread still around discussing it.-chet

would a +30 offset on an 8 inch rim up front be pushing it too far?

Because it looks like an M3 that way:D Chet is correct, there is no benefit to this other than looks.

thanks for the reply....chet

i'll definitely do more research because i can't seem to get a finally answer on the offsets. i checked the 5zigens website and they don't carry anything lower than a 38 offset....but when i asked a friend who owns a shop, he called and said that they do have the offset that will fit on the 240sx w/ tein coilovers....(he forgot to get the offset) i'm going back to the shop again and try to get a straight answer.....

thanks for the help.....

well unfortunately the shop is closed for a week.....

but it seems like i'm going to go with the fn-01r-c, there more 240sx friendly with the offset......

we'll see next week......

thanks again

question...it's my understanding that if you're going to run the same size width (like 8's all around), it's better to go with the same offset all around correct?but...if you're going staggered, is that when's it's normal/acceptable to do the different offsets for the front versus the rear? :dunce

same width wheelssame offset front and rear, preferably.

if you run a staggered setup, by definition the offsets would change to keep everything 'correct'.-chet

The idea is, you want to keep the tires tracking in the same line (center lines of the tread matching up front and back).

okay....i've decided on the fn-01r-c bronze. i'm going with 17x8 w/ a +27 offset in the front and 17x9 w/ a +35 offset in the rear.

i'm wrapping them w/ falken azenis 225/45/17 in the front and 245/45/17 in the rear (they don't have 245/40/17)man those are some wide arse tires (the 245/45/17). i could only fit one tire in the trunk and had to fit three up front.

i can't wait until they get in, i'll be getting the rears next week and have to wait about 3 1/2 weeks for the front. :asmile
