wsupz all

i've just completed all my tech school training in the military so i'll be coming back to the site quiet a bit. I'm currently station in Langley AFB, Virgina, any one around here?

anyways i have a few questions for people that work out in this forum. I want to get bulk up, i've been taking protein, creatine, mega men and now i'm also trying out mass tech but i just dont' seems to get any where. I usually lift weight 2-4 times a week, 2 body part each time and usually 3 set each body part. Am i doing something wrong and not doing something that i'm suppose to? well thanks for your time.

just focus on 1 body part at a time. like chest for 1 day, then arms another, back, then shoulders. but remember to give ur body time in between workouts to rest, or u will only hurt yoself. if u are looking to bulk up go for higher weight, lower reps. increasing weight with each set.

go here, be educated:

also, check out ian kings "Get buffed" book, its great, anecdotal take on proper weightlifting for sport/job/activity specifics as well as everyday physical prepardness.

Im stationed in Misawa Japan and this is what I do to get my muscles... I drink grape sodas all day, I either go off base for lunch or on base... popeyes, burger king, taco bell, load up on protein and hold the fries. In the afternoon, I eat more protein rich foods, tuna is a good snack to keep your metabolism going. Protein seems to bulk me up and the beer helps my waist bulk up as well... maybe I need to lay off the beer but it is so good...hmmm... beer... anyway, I work out 3-4 times a week, depends how busy I get. I do 50 push ups in the morning when I wake up and 50 before i go to bed. remember the new fitness standard...

this is the by product of the beer and fried chicken diet.

if you're a "hardgainer" like me then eat more than the daily amount calories. That mean you need to eat around 3500 calories. It's freaking hard to eat that much man hahaha. No time and no money.

Increase the amount of sets you do for each body part. 3 sets each really doesn't cut it. The larger muscle groups will need more sets and the smaller will require fewer

I do this many sets/body part:

12 sets: chest, back, quads, hamstrings

9 sets: shoulders, biceps, triceps

6 sets: traps, calves, forearms, abs

This may not be right for you but definately step up the sets and on a side note, legs will be the most important thing you train...even if you are mainly wanting upper body strength.

doogz,

i mainly train my upper body parts, i don't train my legs at all. Why is the legs the most important thing that i should be training?

Your legs are one of your largest muscle groups in the body and when you train them hard, your body will be more apt to release its own growth hormone.

I used to take creatine and not do much leg work and now i don't take anything but vitamins and i put in some good leg workouts and im in better shape now then i was with the aid of the creatine.

If nothing else, just make a schedule and stick with it. Then alter it as you see fit. You've got years and years of training day in and day out. If something isn't working for you after awhile, then change it up until you find your niche.

that ****s bad for ya, I've been lifting alot lately, and taking lots of stuff, but I can't bring myself to go that far.

What I do is lift 2 times a day (morning and night) Mon-tue, thu-fri-sat. rest on wed and sun. I take 100%pure whey from GNC, and it has been working really well. I take that before I work out in the morning, and before and after my night workout. on top of all the lifting I do 300 situps and 150 push up before I go to bed.

That has really worked for me, as I used to be a rather fat 197lbs and now with that, and lots of running, I'm a quite ripped 185.( I'm not trying to make myself out to be some big hardass on this board btw)

I think the best thing for you to do is too get some books, reading online, etc... Being educated about this stuff, I think, is the most important thing.

edit- and someone to work out with too. Me and my friend always work out together, and although he doesn't push me by getting in my face or none of that, but he pushes me by outlifting me all the time. (kids a beast) and that just makes me lift and work out that much harder.

I've taken creatine, ECA, and steroids. I'm perfectly healthy.

If you want to bulk up take 1-AD and follow the routines of Louie Simmons. He has a gym called Westside Barbell in Ohio.

Do a web search using his name and you'll find his website. He also has over 500 pages worth of articles in .pdf format that you can download.

This is what they have on base, Taco Bell, Popeyes, Burger King, Charleys, A&W, Robin Hood (like subway), Anthony's Pizza and Baskin Robbins...

Off base, Pizza Hut (havent tried it since the pizza looks strange) KFC (sucks) McDonalds...

Thats here in Misawa... my friends in Yokota by Tokyo tells me that they pretty much have everything over there thats in the states...

On a serious note, I just try to eat right and my workout is pretty much from work..but I try to go to the Gym at least 3 times a week... if not too busy.
