get some things done to support the power youll have with a turbo first, then worry about the power itself

since you have a sort of unknown suspension you might want to look into that a little more, also brakes, the previously mentioned lsd, drivetrain stuff, etc...

then worry about the power, start off with a nice exhaust, which you could also put on anytime in the list above since thats just another thing to get out of the way before you get the turbo

They're red so the springs may be Eibach. You'll probably want to look into getting some RS*R's or something if that's the case.

An Energy Suspensions bushing kit is good from what I hear as well.

Dont pay attention to what HashiriyaS14 said, it will take you alot more than you think to swap to a CA18DET... However you can have a shop drop in a KA24DE for alot cheaper and gain 15HP plus alot more when it comes to future mods. Its not really a bad motor.

If you are going for low power, than your current motor will be adequate.

But one extra cam can mean a big difference when going turbo. On low level boost, say 6-7 psi, double the difference in HP between the two. About future mods, the cams available for turbo DOHC's are all around, but SOHC is going to have to be a custom cam, because that motor is primarily built only for N/A.

I believe PDM has a SOHC turbo spec cam.

Most people report about the same gains when going turbo between the two motors. At least at around 8 psi I don't know how well the SOHC do at really high psi.

ive read that the difference in the sohc and the dohc from 89 to 90 was about a 15 hp difference... thats the reason i made sure my 240 was at least a 90 so i could have the ka24de... plus all my friends have ka24de's and its easier to understand when we all have the same thing... but anyway, you should drop the wieght, one of my friends has a s-13 and has no back seats spare, jack, and he pretty much got rid of anything else of no use to him... he whoops my other friends 98 240, and my friend with the 98 is a better driver
