Im not really sure about your car but a lot of cars have a resonator which i sbasically a pre muffler. Remove that and itll get louder but you might not like it. Proll be a lil raspy.

remove the mufflerreplace the car with an american v8 car replace mufflercall it a day

In all honesty, import cars never sound good with the fart cans on them. Remember that I'm entitled to my opinion, I don't like the way they sound. Good luck in finding a solution to the problem

Why not? I love the big V8 rumble.

I love imports for their reliability but they will NEVER EVER compare to American Muscle. Not only do I love the rumble and sound of a V8 but the torque and power is addicting. I've owned several different GM F-bodies and I loved all of them. They make the Max feel anemic. Would I buy any other type of domestic vehicle.... maybe not. Maybe if I needed a truck.

Ok back on topic...if you get rid of the resonator, you're gonna hate it cuz every time you'd rev it, the car would pop as the rpm's come back down, so unless you wanna sound like a ricer civic, I wouldn't recommend that! The only way to get more sound out of your muffler is to increase flow. Get a Y-pipe and high-flow cat and you'll get the sound you want.

And as far as the import vs. domestic debate goes...for power and unmatched sound, no doubt goes to American Muscle. We have a 66 GTO with the 389 c.i. 4 barrel and there's nothing like it...it's respect everywhere you go, especially when you rev it and the whole car rocks back and forth! I love my max, don't get me wrong, but we're comparing apples and oranges here. That's like trying to compare a corvette and an evo, they're two different animals that really can't be compared.
