hey ! so i must say i am very happy with the top end on the stock ka its got plenty for me i am not out to race any one just here to have a good time. the only thing i want to improve is the low end of the car so its easier to toss the rear end around. Is there a way to do this that is pretty cost effective? i want to be able to stay sideways through corners and thats it. thanks!

Jeremy

EXACTLY

The KA is WELL known to fall flat on its face at high RPM's

The KA is also well known as a torque-y motor for around town power. You dont have to ring it out to get power from it like many honda motors (s2000) and some toyota or other high reving motors.

and as for staying sideways, you shouldnt be looking specifically for low end power to stay sideways, if anything high end power would help more with staying sideways.

nah, but theres lots of tweaking you can do to the KA, search around a bit for general power adders like intake, header and 2.5in exhaust. Also remove the clutch fan for electric fans, and get an underdrive pulley and/or driveshaft. and dont forget a tuneup.

You wanted low end power, and now you don't want a KA?

there's so many stuff you can buy for your KA to make more power and free up more power. i guess it depend if you have the KA24E or the KA24DE.

Brian Crower 264 and 272 camsBrian Crower Valve Spring and Retainer kitsor the cam swaps in this forumJWT adjustable cam gears (or the DIY in this forum)Lightweight FlywheelLightweight crank pulleyelectric fanheadersturbo...and it keeps going and going and going........ and going...

depends on your time and budget... oh and skills.. very important.

my 2 cents.

well we all know a sr is about 1500 so to make it worth while not to swap the sr it would have to be lower than 1500. 200hp maybe? is that possible ? w/o a turbo ? this is off topic but its going to be my daily driver so mileage is kind of important. i am not sure whats up with my ka24de but i seem to get ****ty mileage compared to most. I get about 19 beatin' it most the time when others i know got like 25mpg beating it worse than i did.

+1 on that ^^

i like the displacement of the KA, with more and more bolt-ons coming up in the market... i'd stick with it.
