My next project car is a Z32 with a RB26 i've decided... so when this does happend down the road... you can take the VG (more than likely the non turbo b/c you can pick those up very cheap) and try it out. For anyone who knows stuff about honda's the VG swap would be like putting an H22A in a civic... lots of power... lots of weight for a small car. Just my opinion.

I researched this back when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do..... The VG30 is the lightest V6 out there. From what I heard (could be a rumor) the VG will bolt in but the engine sits about 3-4 inches above the hood. A custom driveshaft is needed and wiring needs to be intergated. Also for weight dist, the VG transmission is heavy and the VG engine sits back in the engine bay so the added weight is towards the center of the car. I would love to see this swap done again and photegraphed.

Do a search on zilvia. There is a good long post about the swap.

in my personal opinion, since the rise of RB swap info and available clips, a VG swap, just like an SR, is a waste of time and money. The RB swap is about as easy as an SR swap, and just as cheap. So why would someone even waste time with an SR? Same iwth VG, way too much money, that will cost WAY more than an RB swap, plus the VG engines are ALOT of money when they have to be rebuilt, and they don't even make the power to be worth it. If you haven't started this yet, save yourself the time and money and go with RB swap.

SR isnt a waste, neither is the RB. just whatever suits you as far as power expectations, owrk involved, and most of all money. but to each his own..if you go on http://www.hybridz.org you can search for it and find it. a Z33 with the rb26dett. its SUHWEET!

i didnt say the rb was a waste, just the vg and sr are. the sr costs the same amount as an rb, and makes less power/torque. the vg costs WAY Too much to buy/install/rebuild/mod, and makes less power than the rb, and the sr20 can probably make more pwoer too.

I tend to agree with the sr comment. Although, if you are planning a vg swap just to be different, I could support that. It would cost a huge amount of money but it would definatly deserve some respect.

my thing with the VG was that, since it came from a factory car here in the states then it would be a "legal" swap. u know what i mean

A good point. Although I dont know why everyone makes such a big deal about "legal swaps". When you are going 150mph in it......That isnt legal!!!!!!!!!

good point. :) although, if you have an illegal motor in your car (this happened to my friend with a civic and a jdm engine, hahaha) they can take possession of your car, etc.

Well, I just got pulled over doing 109mph and they took mine. Granted I got it back, but it still sucked. I get your point though. Loosing a car........well I cant even imagine.

DAMN THE MAN!!!
