That fx sound is very similar to the 350z/G35 sound. Its because their exhaust layout is almost identical if not identical.wisehunter1 wrote:i was thinking about a magnaflow race series muffler?

just something a little sportier growl
do you have a video of the sound?Innovazn wrote:I cut out my Reso. I went full cat back
2.25- muffler and opened up to a single 2.5 tail pipe.
Deleting the resonator will yield much better sound and better flow. My set up is as straight as i can get it and it does not wake the block. Mind you if i put a cherry b0mb vortex in there then yes... it will... but the muffler is civil, and during long drives does not drone and annoy you.
You realize what you hear in videos can drastically change in person right?wisehunter1 wrote:this guy mounted 350z catback on a qx4. sounds great but still not quite there

I think this explains pretty much your doubt. No matter what muffler you get, your Path will not sound like an FX, but it will sound pretty neat if you get the nice exhaust set up.01silvapathy wrote:Simply bolting up a FX muffler wont give you the same sound. The two cars might share the same type of block but they have completely different tunes on them which is why the pathy vq puts out 240hp and the fx 298hp, the transmissions are different with power delivery and the exhaust is completely different.
I cut everything after the cats off on mine, its pretty loud on cold starts but its not terrible. It resonates like a G35 at certain rpm at low speeds and the drone isnt terrible. You can still have a conversation at highway speeds without any issues...my tires are actually louder lol.
