Hi Guys!
When i purchased my Rogue back in 08, I wasn't using Bluetooth at all, so I didn't opt for the bluetooth radio at the time.
I do have the Bose system though.

But now with my new cell phone, I am using Bluetooth all the time, and find it would be convenient to have Bluetooth in the Rogue as well.
What do you guys think would be the best option to get Bluetooth into my 08 Rogue?

Could I even buy an OEM 08 Rogue stereo with Bluetooth? Not sure how much that would even cost.
Or would it be better to just buy an aftermarket stereo that has bluetooth? but would the steering wheel controls still work?
Or would it be better and cheaper to just get a nice Double Din Video touchscreen? and which models are good?

thanks for any help you can provide!

Even if you did you'd need to verify that the steering wheel controls and BT mic wiring are in place. I'd suggest aftermarket.

The Bluetooth feature is actually just a module that plugs into the radio. But current your steering wheel lacks the buttons to control it. Adding the buttons is frighteningly expensive as they are part of the airbag module. You could replace the entire sound system for what that airbag costs!

Aftermarket is about your only option. A BT headunit is one possibility. There are also lots of decent Bluetooth speakerphones out there, Parrot, Blueant, etc. I've been using a Blueant ST3 handsfree speakerphone in my Rogue for 3 yrs now. Works great... it has voice caller ID, and even has speech recognition to answer calls literally hands free.

Go with aftermarket option. Cheaper and quicker
I personally use BlueAnt Bluetooth S4 speakerphone. Mounts on visor with magnetic clip.
I have 3 units in 3 cars and it works really well.

thanks for the suggestions guys!
I should clarify why i really want Bluetooth i guess...
I really want it because I would like to stream music from my phone, in addition to using it for calls.

I was looking at some of the Double Din units out there. When buying any electronic equipment, i always start off with a small budget, but end up gravitating towards the top of the line expensive items, lol..

the Pioneer double din units all seems to have bluetooth issues.
What do you guys think of this unit?

I wonder if it would sit flush in my rogue, and would the install kit match the black dash good?
I am handy, but not good at installing stereos, so I would have to find a local shop to do the install as well, which is a pain.
thanks again, and please let me know if you guys have any other advice or suggestions!

In my opinion, you're better off with some sort of wired connection for music. I've never had a phone that could stream audio via blueooth (A2DP) at the same quality that just hooking up a cable provides.
I'm sure on your phone it works fine for you since you said you've been using it. But I've had A2DP phones where I ended up having to hack the registry just to get a somewhat decent quality. But a big issue I always had was easily connecting the phone to the headphones. I usually have to go through a whole process that takes longer than just plugging a cable into the phone, lol.

Well, I stream music via bluetooth from my phone to my headphones when i cut the lawn, and the quality is awesome.
I would think that it should sound even better streaming over my sound system in my car.

we'll see.. i have narrowed down my choices between these 2 units
