Ok iv got one 10 in audiobahn sub and its gonna be powered by a 500x 1 mtx thunder amp. Also have the 4 speakers with another mt x 4 channel. I want to put a msd ignition and two 12 inch fans on the car not to mention all the other little gadgets inside the car. Plus alarm so you know what im getting at. Dont you think thats a lot of power for my little alternator? So i was thinking extra battery in the back but that just means the alternator will be powering that battery also. What should i do so i dont have to be changing alternators all the time. I do want all these goodies also in the car but im not sure its a good idea hopefully somebody knows a lot about power and what i can hold.

I would get an Optima Deep Cycle (yellow top) battery to replace your stock battery. Also, I would replace the factory ground from your battery to the chassis. At this point, I would add a 1 farad capacitor to stiffen the power supply to the amplifiers. Use good quality cable and I believe that you will find that this will provide a sturdy electrical system upgrade to accomodate your new stuff! This is assuming that you have a relatively new alternator.

WOW, you are using 0 or 1 for just those 2 amps??? You could use a single 4 awg to the cap bank and then use either 4 or 8awg to your amps. 0 is overkill for that setup, especially since you will not be running the wire that far. You would save some money too.

Yeah I just have those two amps but im using a lot of other stuff other than music so i want everything to be running right without heat getting in the way. I already have the wire so im not losing money. I am not sure the amps on the alternator but im sure it is not that high. Does anyone know of high power amps for the nissan 240sx I own a 1990

You have an 80 amp alternator in there right now. You should not have a problem running all that stuff. I have 2 amplifiers that have a max current draw of 200amps (fuse rating), plus the HKS Powerspark ignition, plus a CB radio, plus a cell phone charger. I have no problems at all with this setup and my charging system. I have an 80 amp alternator, some battery that says EXTREME on it from Wal-Mart, and a streetwires 1 farad cap on the amps in the back. I have upgraded my battery ground to a Streetwires 4 awg wire. The load that you are talking about putting on your car with the good stuff that you already have is very minimal. You should not be so worried.
