Car: currently chevy impala 2000 base model but i dont know how long i'll keep it

Post

Okay first of all it isnt a done deal. I have a impala 2000 and i dont know if my mom wants me to keep it, she plans on giving it to someone else in her home country, Romania.

this car i saw 4 sale the other day was a 1994 Q45 220,000 miles would that milage be such a bad thing that it would not allow the car to run well.i know very well that i want it to run for a few years maybe , if i have to have someone replace the transmission maybe ? i dont knowanyways i think the guy said it has all its fuel injectors shot which would mean i need 8 fuel injectors if i get the car he's asking for $600 and im gonna try to lower it to $500 atleast Also the steering wheel is like it doesnt have power steering , he says i have to rotate it back and forth like 10 times before the power steering fixes up or something , if anyone can shed light on that matter i would really appreciate it , same thing with the fuel injector info like price and installation

this is the VIN

VIN JNKNG01D5RM265469 Year/Make/Model: 1994 INFINITI Q45 Body Style: SEDAN 4 DR Engine Type: 4.5L V8 SFI DOHC 32V Manufactured In: JAPAN Search Results: 14 records found in our databaseIF anyone has free auto check or something please help me out.

You have the VIN, so I would obtain the Infiniti dealer performed service history.

By your description, it sounds abused so I would have a $6K cash kitty to rehabilitate, minimum.

There is a article in that forum on buying a G50 (1990-1996) Q45.

Welcome to our site, and the more reading you do, the more you will learn and save money by avoiding costly mistakes.

I'll e-mail a Carfax to you ASAP.

$600 is a great deal for an abused/dying/high mileage 94 Q45. Like Brian said above, have a few grand ready to buy parts and/or pay for labor. Your first year will be hectic, but the payoff is that, well, you get to drive a Q.

If you're getting the Q for less than a grand and it's not a salvage, that will be the least of your costs for the first year.

Plan for ~$2000 in the first year, or expect to only have it running for a year.

Wow, is it cost efective to send an Impala to Romania? Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a Sokda or some other econo box that they sell over there? Imagine an Impala in Romania. That must be a trip.

well thing is mom bought impala for 5K when it should be worth around 9-10 Kand she wants to send it there i dont know why , she just might let me keep it tho , i mean all the cars in romania r crap seriously even the bmw's have like real crappy engines r are lemons or something and yeah my mom might just take it there for a month or 2 at most and bring it back at the worst , as of today it isnt insured i have a license and plates and stickers and title cuz she bought it for me 6 weeks or so back and it only has 21,518 miles and i guess its a steal , she is a bit low on the money and doesnt trust me , so yeah my dad needs to sell a house he has 4 sale and then i get the impala insured

IMAGINE a impala in romania , that would be the pimpest ride in this little town i live in that only have opel's and dacia LOL , this little town has outhouses ppl :p

idk if i want to join this site long since i dont think getting that ride would be worth it , maybe suep up the impala insteadmom has 1998 quest nissan and sis has 1997 I30 infinitiwho ever wants to show off their rides or check out stuff should maybe join my lil crappy forum but like we need ppl , aim me if u care 2 join

There ya go , no link mod ....

There's Chevy dealers there now, but the lineup is all GMDAT Korea, nothing genuinely American. The 3800 V6 is tremendously simple and hugely reliable, but you'd still have to order parts from the US, and shipping adds up. If the Impala is huge here, I can only imagine how huge it would seem in econobox land!

I'd try to keep the Impala and pass on the Q, unless you're a hobbyist like the rest of us with a massive affinity for these gorgeous old lux cars.

Best of luck with whatever you decide.

Maybe another Infiniti would be a better choice for your age and situation.

When I was 17, even 20-21 I couldnt have made a good decision on a Q personally. You can get it, spend no money and maybe have a beater Q (yuck) thatll last you for a while.

Or you could have money ready like the rest said, to keep it up.

Maybe a G20 or J30 would be a better option for this fella.?

Good Luck and remember, choose wisely:)

j30 absolutely, great car. Get good tires in the winter, you'll need them.
