Question - body redone, rust obliterated, rear susp redone, NOW everything is boring and I am twitchin for some STREET action (dont go past cottage, sorry folks) plus more power. Mine is a stick 3.5 = 240 ft of torq - I want POWER VALVES (yes yes locktite) and from what I have gathered, the opening/closing function is electronically controlled by the god damn AUTOMATIC transmission. So would there be a way is the question .........to convert it to manual operation for example - I mean it is the same engine otherwise - has this been done/attempted ........ or is it theoretically possible and how ???? Please refrain from telling me that anything is possible provided I have the loot! I understand this clearly and do NOT have unlimited funds so I want to get a used engine and do it meself :ohno: . I have an intake and cat back exhaust and there is a hot cam at 4X4 for $1200 (which happens to be the cost of a used 3.5 .....INSTALLED) Anyway, help would be appreciated - as a newby, I posed this question a year or 2 ago and maybe I didnt pose it properly, but I have a feeling that this is possible, somebody please confirm that I can install power valves....... :squint:

please do not respond to the following if not interested .... Thank you :nono:

There's a reason the '01 manuals had more HP and less torque: the transmission is marginal for that engine.

Hey, you know what, I actually read that somewhere a while back but at the time I was more concerned with the maxima my MAF issue as well as exhaust/heat shield noise etc - so I was not concerned with extra power. As soon as I read the post, it took me back to that nagging sensation I felt throughout my little quest for power - now I understand it, I think this would be pretty much the same as for the 3.3/marginally better??!! .....thanks Chuck

So ....... any transmission upgrades out there that have been tried/tested with good results? I have just completed my rear wobble issue (got stock and will use the old arms/panhard rod to updrade with 4x4 bushings - 8 total......wanna drive it into oblivion god willing) so the point is now the front is coming into play = strut/stock mts, lower arm bushings, and while I am there, thinking of a shift linkage rebuild, upgraded clutch, sealed, warn hubs, and top it off with this LSD upgrade I was reading about on the 'other' pathfinder site ....... any info appreciated folks and thank you
