I am new to nissan performance. I want a 240 sx 1989-1993 s13. I have always liked nissan very much. When income tax comes in this year I am going to purchase a 240sx project car. I need suggestions for engine suspension combinations and power adders for the Ka24de.

Also my best friend is buying a 1985 nissan 200sx. What is compatible between the two cars?

Thanks for any information.

The ka24de isnt the best bolt on mod engine. It doesnt really respond the way a Honda motor would by giving you 10 hp for an intake, 20 hp for an exhaust. Its very difficult to hit the 200 hp with N/A ka. Only 2-3 people have done it to my knowledge and thats with 1000's invested.

Your best bet is to go with a 1500 dollar turbo install. That will get you to the low 200 hp safely and reliably if you do the research and do it right.

Other than that.. Suspension is like any other car, shocks/springs, ect ect.

How much do you want for you 240 sx ? Is it a fast back s13? Does it have the DOHC Ka in it. KA24de I think is the engine code?

I plan on pulling the engine out and rebuilding it with cams and bigger injectors and a Apexi turbo and exhaust kit. As well as the program for the computer. AlsoI am going to add urethane bushings, kyb struts and eibach lowing spring not much of a drop like a inch and a half. A LSD is going to be nessasary too. I just want a good handling car that can close distances between corners fast.

I know the SR20 is the engine to mod but I can't afford one. From what I have read you can get a safe 325hp out of the KA24de with the mods I listed. I know there is alot to it I have done turbo installs on diffrent cars etc.

I just tried out a 240sx stock KA24de this summer and fell in love. Bone stock it was quiet snappy and handled alot better than I expected.

I have had nissans in the past but all were fwd sentras. One was awsome the 1984 that I had. The 1991 I had was a automatic ( wish I would have never bought it ) The transmission wouldn't go into overdrive. I replaced the filter and oil and the shift solenoid and wires and the darn thing still wouldn't shift into over drive. I checked the fuse box also to make sure all the fuses were making connection inside the fuse panel also. I drove the car without overdrive unitl she started smoking and sold the car for the demolition derby. On the other hand the 1984 carberated that I had ran for 3 years and got rid of it because the computer shot the sheets and couldn't find another one. I would say the 84 sentra was one of the best cars I ever owned.

Later get back to me with pics and information on your 240

Figures when I don't have cash a car come available. I saved all summer and spent my cash on things for my house heat etc. I am sure when income tax comes in this year I won't be able to find a 240 either. But I am saving my money and going to get one that I can build to what I want. I wish I had something that I could trade but I don't have anything but electronics and a beat old 1978 camaro with a rebuilt engine and needs to be restored.

Do you know much about the 1985 200 sx? My best friend is thinking about buying one that was overheated.

Thanks any information will be well appreciated.

Later Victor
