Of course your do!

Well I just added my SuddenStop to the rear of my Rogue. It's a perfect fit and looks great. No wires just screw the frame behind your license plate. I know some of you have been rear ended at a stoplight or on the road so I thought I share this with you. As you can tell, I'm into cool gadgets like when I got that license plate bumper protector. Well this will protect you when on the road. Another form of protection for people like me who want do their best to keep their Rogue looking good.

The funny thing is I always keep a good distance so I usually never suddenly stop. But on OCCASION I do when its hard to see in front of a large vehicle and I get surprised. My perspective is that I always keep a safe distance so the person in front of me is always protected when they suddenly slam on their brakes and I have a good distance to stop suddenly; but then it would mean the person tailgating me would DAMAGE MY REAR. It's a catch-22 folks...lolz. Thank god it has not happen.

And the great thing about it is that it's REALLY affordable for under $30. Hey its better than a $1000 in rear end damage right? Not only that I was able to get mine online for around $25 including delivery. Well that was a great price!

My suggestion; as I have done before; is to use screws and bolts to fasten the bottom together. Even though there are no holes for holding the bottom part of the plates in the rear. (even front too...lol!) I do this to lessen the rattle. Then I place some rubber circular protectors to protect the paint and also decrease the rattle yet again when shutting the rear. Some people don't notice or care about alittle rattle when closing but it's my pet peeve.

When you get the sudden stop you need to get longer screws at the hardware store. I have a chrome frame, smoke license protector, & license. So I had to use around 1 inch screws. Get rubber protectors or whatever you want to protect the paint.

Makes a great gift too!

Answer: A pendulem.

The unit detects when you you brake heavily. There is a very simple pendulum lever switch inside the unit. When braking force is applied to the unit, the lever swings over, closing an electrical circuit and activating the light flashing sequence. The lever is only activated by braking, not by acceleration, and doesn't seem to be affected by simple bumpy rough road movement either

It runs on lithium batteries for 2-3 yrs and depends on how much the light goes off.

When I was handling it during the installation it would go off. You can vaguely hear something on the frames right side but its not an obtrusive rattle while handling; but more like feeling it's movement. Also it lights initially, when I open the liftgate, but not usually therefter if I repeated again soon.

Also I use it as a back up system, it probably won't go off for a few weeks during my style of driving. It's basically a supplement to the main brakelight system and is there when I need it.

not to be critical but,

no matter how many lights you put on the back, if someone is following too close and/or not paying attention when you have to brake suddenly then chances are you're getting rear-ended

LOL I know I have added alot stuff. This is probably my last mod for a long time. Still need to place the thin rubber protectors on the bullbar....opps.

But really no tattoos here. The rubber stick on bumpers were leftovers from the front. They usually used for a big truck like a Tacoma or Ford.I had leftover so I used the rest I guess everywhere.

I guess I was trying to find my "inner jeep". The off-road vehicle I never had while growing up. So I dressed up my CUV and daydream it's that vehicle. Wait they wanna look like us!

Anyways, I promise I won't get the sunroof wind deflector.

You might wanna consider to install at least on your 3rd brake light or maybe on all of brake lights.... the strobe flash adapter for brake lights from vleds.com It is only $5 including shipping per adapter.

Hey Leo... Yep, I'm with you. I'd probably consider installing a brake light strobe flash adapter before I'd add on any additional lighting devices. The advantage to the adapters is you utilize your vehicles existing light fixtures plus you have the option of making all your brake lights strobe / flash like shown in this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated

Or just install it in your third brake light circuit:

Speaking of this topic. I am not really into splicing wires and would be afraid to mess up the rogue. It may be easy, but that's me presently. I did install a radio once and a multi-horn P.A. system during my youngers years but the installation was really radio shack ghetto technique if anything. But anyways:

I wouldn't mind doing the third brake light. But in reality, I would just like it to come on during unexpected hard breaking.

Ok I just saw the videos too.... before I make my opinion. AND YES, somebody mentioned it. Giving somebody a seizure. And then smashing into you. Well I was not thinking that really, the smash part...lol.

If you can make it go on during HARD UNEXPECTED braking like the gadget I bought. YESSSSS, it would be good. But if it goes off during regular braking. A big fat NO.

That would be annoying to the person and me if I was behind one. I really think the LED rear lights on some of these luxery vehicles really are abrasive to look at and hurt my eyes as is. I could almost understand how people might get a seizure these days. And if ALL the lights were flashing. Hell to the no!!!!! That is torture to all citizens. Cruel and Unusual punishment.

Flash lights good = HARD unexpected brakingFlash lights BAD= everyday braking. (just think if youwere stuck behind one of these in 2 hour traffic)Ok now I'm here to describe how my 15 dollar SuddenStop actually saved me this week. I didn't think I need it that fast and I am VERY fortunate I got it recently.

Anyways, this guy suddenly stops in the middle of the road and I had to slam my brakes because this A-hole needed to merge all of a sudden in those middle merging lanes where cars were already there.

I knew I would have been hit. I am 110% sure. Because I quickly looked at my rearview mirror knowing the driver behind me was just as surprised as I was from the A-hole in front of me. Personally, I didn't think he could see the A-hole since the Rogue might block his view. But he didn't seem to be mad and I am sure he was happy to see the flashing frame that helped save both of us from car collision damage. I also saw that he was a younger guy so thank god for his youthful faster reflexes. I am sure he thank me mentally that the flashing frame helped him. Instead of him thinking I was a tailgating A-hole up front. Hopefully he also saw the real situation and perhaps intrigued by the flashing frame but more comforted knowing we didnt have to deal with a car accident for today.

Remember no matter how good we take car of ourselves, I learned that driving defensively and using whatever tools available is the best way to protect oneself from the crappy drivers out there.

Any item I mention in the forum is something I bought and I am very happy with. I also like sharing my experiences as others have helped me with theirs.

It's flashing kinda too fast. I've seen it the other day on pontiac minivan and it wasn't flashing fast but was more like friendly reminder. I think the speed of flash increased because of led lights.

Just installed it. This strobe module actually have 3 wires and the 3rd wire is optional but for running lights. Now if you connect it to running light then your brake light doesn't flash in strobe light but in regular mode. Also as I said earlier if you connect to a regular bulb (not led) then it doesn't flash that fast.
