wanna get an sr20det but first some question

ok so ive had my 240sx for a year now and i finally saved enuff for a sr20det but i was thinkin what would be the problems with smoging it? would it not pass wit the sr20 or is it legal? if its illegal do i need some type of hook up? and if it is illegal and i dont have a hook up would it work to go to a smog station not in cali and use that paper in cali? please help

You sound very much a newbie to cars in general, how the smog system works and stuff especially since you're located in the heart of the import scene. Must be a young un'.

Anywho, it's illegal with no emissions equipment. Won't pass visual may pass tail pipe. Illegal swaps will need a hook up. If you don't have any hook ups, You're **** OUT OF LUCK! Sorry but that's just the truth. No smog station out of state is going to save you! If you don't know anyone that can help then your best choice is to stay stock or basic bolt ons onto stock ka and swap all stock parts back on every two years.
