i was reading an atricle today in car and driver, and it was discussing and testing the Enzo, well i came to find out that the brake pads on this car cost 6grand for a replacement set, now mind you they are carbon based NON fading pads (non fading eh? then why would u need replacements) and new rotors and calipers cost 24k, now ive seen f4o brakes on some cars, such as skylines, 3ooz's and such, but 24k, thats a LIL bit too much, and the oil!! omg the oil, 6o bucks a quart and you need 12.2 quarts, and u MUST use the kind of oil only, or the 'repairs' will cost you 1ook if the dealer finds out (as it will void your warranty) now i know any potential Enzo buyer can afford this, but still, thats a lil ridiculous dont u think? i mean hell the actual car cost 65oK by itself

Mark me down for a set for all four corners. Are we going to get a group buy discount?

of course, i already have my house up for sale so ill have the money, i figured it was either that or take out a 5year loan, and of coures, the rotors are carbon based too, all that weight saving the the mclaren is still 7oo lbs lighter!!

Fading and wearing out are two different things...

But yeah, I agree, they're all pretty expensive. But like you said, if you have an Enzo, you probably don't care.

well since they're only 399 made, i'd go buy a set of pads and show em off saying 'o, she's in the shop', nice way to attract ladies

I would be afraid some ricers would steal my $6000 brake pads and modify them to stick in their honda brakes. HAHA. Nick

LOL

The Enzo is amazing. Most magazines are giving it lotsa praise. While it does cost $650K, remember the McLaren was a cool million bucks. Even in the supercar class, I guess you get what you paid for. BTW, a friend told me he read someone tested an Enzo up to 215 mph. Not bad!!

yes i think the theoretical top speed on a perfect banked road is like 215.2mph, while the f5o was 2o2, and the new buggati is supposedly up to 25o, and the mclaren 24omph, however it is mathematical fact that the most aerodynamic street car is the saleen s7, it has insane downforce, however is streamlined enough to reach its top speed of 223mph (gear'd top speed anyway), steve saleen said it has enough downforce that you could actually drive upside down in a tunnel at anything over 16omph and still stay glue to the 'ceiling'

That must be how they did it in 'Men in Black'.

well yea i expect it on a formula one car, but like u said, on a street car??, geez, the brake calipers for that cost more than the sticker of my car!!, i dont see how they got SOO expensive, caues like i said, ive seen f4o brakes on other cars, and f4o brakes cant be THAT much worse than enzo brakes
