Japanese luxury brands are a North American creation. It was only in the last few years they began spreading elsewhere. There was no Infiniti, Acura, or Lexus in Japan until recently. Still no Acura over there unless I'm mistaken.scotty-2-forty wrote:Maybe they're just purists and giving props to the parent company? I'm missing something ... Eh,.

I guess I was mistaken. I could have sworn Nissan announced plans to start introducing Infiniti dealerships to Japan back in 2008. Apparently that fell through.Encryptshun wrote:Wait -- Infiniti is a brand in Japan now? I thought they split the Infiniti models between the Nissan badge and the Skyline sub-brand?
I get annoyed by USDM front end Integras with Acura badges. That quad round light setup is horrible. I didn't like it on the Celica either.breadbox wrote:I just get annoyed by USDM front end integras with honda badges, but if its got the JDM front why not right?

yeah, Acura is a North American only name.AppleBonker wrote:Same reason a lot of people use on their Nissans, it's JDM-tyte, y0! The integra was sold with a Honda badge in Japan if I'm not mistaken.

It's a fog light. Single rear fog lights are common in Japan and some other countries. That's why the R34, for example, has one red lamp and one reverse lamp bordering the license plate. The Z34 has a rear fog lamp in Japan, too, but in the US just has a strangely shaped gaping hole where the lamp would be.AZ89two4Tsx wrote:Am I the only one that's confused by a random brake light in the rear bumper?
