Sacrilege.

Pathetic what they've done to the memory of Buford Pusser. He coulda kicked "the rocks" arse.

i need to see the original, but the new one wasn't horrible. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't say it needs to adorn my DVD shelf

I didn't know there was an original movie.. just the true life accounts of the man. I haven't seen this movie either.

actually, Pusser isn't the name of the Rock's character in it.

oh, the Grand Premiere was actually in Nashville at the Opr Mills 20. The Rock was there for it, I was gonna go to it, but damn, couldn't find parking.

He also spent a few days in Adamsville, TN talking to Buford's widow and just checkin' out the town, the Pusser Museum and what not.

There was also a moment he had with Pusser's widow where she showed him the spot that he wrecked his Corvette. (that killed him)

so no, I don't think it's pissed on anything.

When the movie came out, the Tennessean more or less ran a full section on the movie and Buford.

For the record, the biggest stick he actually carried was a billy club, which was maybe a foot and a half and an inch or so thick.

The Museum does however sell Pusser Sticks for a few dollars!

James - I saw his Corvette. I believe it was in Chattanooga or Pigeon Forge?

Made a trip to the Smokies back in the day... Awesome country, lots to do and see...

yes Bart, I too have been meanging to take a pilgrimage down to Adamsville and get me one of those sticks.

hell, I'll let people know when I'm gonna go and pick up some for them....

'Ol Joe Don Baker did look pretty accurate to Pusser in the original though...

if I had a scanner, I'd scan this Tennessean and let everyone read the articles....
