I installed a walbro 255 in my 89 coupe 2 weeks ago and I haven't noticed any sounds it makes. Very quiet in my opinion.

I just installed mines 2 weeks ago also. I got mines for $96 shipped. It's hella quiet compared to my old 300z pump...That pump was loud! Walbro's sound like the stock pumps..nice and quiet.

i've had my 255 on my car for about a year now. its quiet...no problems at all. i'd rather have the z32 though. although its loud, i know it puts out more. ~Scott

I was thinking about getting a 300zx venom race fuel pump. Has anyone used this with the sr swap in an 89? Would i be better off with a walbro?

Just get the Walbro....It's good enough to boost what you need plus a little more.

or if your in no hurry to get a high priced one you can go to a salvage yard and find a decent crashed 300zx and clean the pump up and make sure it works and such. i dont know about where you guys live but there are stupid rich high schoolers getting in crashes all the time here with new, modified cars. and well, their parents dont wanna take the time to fix their old one so it goes to the junkyard and the kid gets a new car.

OK, i have a couple points in response to the last thing.

1. Not all high schoolers are stupid and rich:mad: I am busting my *** to pay for an sr swap...2. Getting a used fuel pump is never a real good idea.3. Its not easy to find a crashed 'thrown out' 300zx twin turbo to get parts out of

Decent enough idea though i guess

1. no **** i was one of the ones who busted my *** to get what i had. i bought an 80 fiat spider 2000 my junior year and spend every last penny i made in high school just to keep it running and then to sell it for less than half the price to pay for rent.

2. just thinking out loud

3. well here its pretty easy. last summer me and a friend went out and got z3 side grills for his eclipse, 300zx brakes,(for a diff friend who told us to look for decent ones and we found some) brand new spark wires out of civic, and some expensive *** rims for around 200ish (cant remember) for his little putter mazda 626,(that is fast as hell) and some odds and ends we cleaned and fixed up.

wasnt for me, for my friends 626. he bought it for 100 bucks with a turbo kit in it and we were bored one day so we went to the junkyard and started lookin for shizit. we found it, looked good, so we tried it, whats to loose on a 100 car, jesus christ not everyone just goes out and drops more money to play with a car than you buy the car for. oh yea we take it to the trak every now and then too when we get bored, kansas sucks there isnt a whole lot to do believe me, and it went from running a 10.9-11.5 to a 9-10 1/8. just on crap we picked up here and there and stripping the interior. I DONT DRAG RACE FOR MONEY i do it for fun and for cheap. its a hobby not an obsession for me and my firend and we are not about to go and drop 1000s of dollars to buy **** we dont need. if i was going to go spend money on a car i drive everyday i would buy quality parts, (he drives a late 80s firebird) i just sold my fiat to pay for rent and school which i bought a new transmission for, new top, electric cam fans, relocated battery to back along with new fuel pump from fiat america parts dealer, new exhaust and muffler, taillights, shock absorbers, ect, ect. i dont spend money on crap cars.

once again the 626 ('82) was neither of our daily drivers we both had decent cars we put money into for quality and longativity. the plug wires in the car were shot because the guy that had it before him was irresponsible and tore the hell out of it. neither of us had any money because, we put money into our daily drivers. :rolleyes

lol, no if we pieced together a 626 out of a junkyard to run under 10 in the quarter my name would be god.
