Hey guys im just about to install a Walbro Fuel pump in my SR20. But i have just a few questions.

1) The fuel pump Power and Ground wires, do the gas touch these wires? If so why doesn't it ignite?

2) How safe are the butt connectors that came with the walbro fuel pump kit? I mean we are talking about gasoline here i do not want any spark catching on to the gas.

Thanks
i just want to make sure it safe otherwise it will go Boom Boom

I wouldn't recommend installing the Walbro fuel pump in your SR20, I'd put it in your gas tank. :rotfl

1) There is a plastic sheath around the wires that insulates them. Further more, while carrying an electrical current, it is sparking all over the place. Lastly, heat and gasoline ignite with a proper mixture of oxygen. Liquid gasoline isn't flammable, the vapor is. It needs to be at a warm temperature to expel it's flammable vapor. That is why when gasoline is cold, motors don't start properly. Every heat up your lawnmower before starting it in the fall? Pure gasoline vapor also isn't flammable. It needs that oxygen mixture. Too much of either and it won't ignite. Inside of a gas tank, there is too much fuel and not enough oxygen. For this reason, movies are fake. When the bad guy is getting away and the good guy shoots the gas tank, it blows up. This is impossible. Or if the good guy shoots the gas tank and it leaks gas, then the good guy throws his cigaret into the gas spill and it catches up into the gas tank and it blows up. Not possible. There needs to be a proper mixture of a gas vapor and oxygen.

2) Don't use the crappy connectors it comes with. Solder it together and use heat shrink tube.
