After installing my Walboro, my car ran great for about a day, The next day the engine started shaking causing the whole car to shake at a stop light. The car feels much slower than normal and the exhaust makes a completely different sound. Does anyone know what could have gone wrong?

sig is for a different car, this one has sr20det, Blitz BOV, trust downpipe, 3" custom cat, Apexi N1, SAFC II, Koyo radiator, and the fuel pump.

make sure u dont have any boost leaks... im just not sure if a boost leak would cause a car to die... also walboro fuel pumps are known to have problems and if it turns out to be the problem your better off buying a denso fp or a tomei fp which are quite expensive but are more reliable.

So did Marlboro merge with Walbro to make Walboro ? LOL.

Does the car emit any black sooty fumes out the exhaust? Try pinching the fuel inlet hose to the fuel rail to see if the engine smooths out any at idle. Don't pinch it shut, just impead some of the flow to the rail.

If that makes the engine smooth out then you need to upgrade your regulator. Odds are it needed to be replaced when you got the motor and now that you are seeing circa 40+PSI in line pressure (read: more than stock fuel pressure) the motor is running rich and trying to studder out.

I also wouldn't rule out the possibility that you have a bad vacuum leak somewhere. Possibly a boost leak.

I tried pinching the fuel inlet hose that goes to the fuel rail to see if the idle would smooth out but maybe I pinched it a little too much because the engine died and now the car won't start. can anyone tell me what happened?

make sure you spliced the wires to the walbro well. Also maybe you reversed the feed/return hoses at the fuel pump by mistake. Just a few suggestions.sean

If it sounds like a wrx you're not running on all 4 cyls. Make sure all injector plugs are secure, all coilpacks are plugged in and the packs make a good connection to the plug. Check for fuel and spark in each cyl.

i would get a fuel pressure gauge and see how much pressure you're running in the line. it sounds like pressure is low. 43PSI is the stock pressure, and if the FPR is starting to go out, it could be falling out to mid 30s, which I could see the car trying to run, but with very retarded timing to accomdate for the reduction in gas.

Also, try replacing the fuel pump relay and see if that doesn't clear up any issues you have.

Just wondering, when you pinched the vac line to the FPR, did you pull the spark plugs and were they wet by any chance?

i found out what was wrong, im a dumbass, the fuel pump fuse went out when we pinched the line. but i still feels like its not running on all cyls. how do you test the injectors. no we didn't check the plugs for wetness what does that mean if they are wet?

I had mixed up the spark plug wires. The car would shake violently and not turn over. If the spark plugs are wet, they will most likely smell like gas and look black. You will need to replace them.
