Well I saw this done for the 240 both s13 and s14 and thought, why can't the MY Maxima have a inexpensive front lip??
I don't know if this is article worthy but I'm sure someone will like it.
Here are my list of tools and supplies.
1 Roll of Duct tape.1 Roll of 3M clear tape (its the rubbery stuff)1 Pair of Scissors1 20" Roll of Garden Edge (purchased at Wal-Mart)
Total cost: roughly $10
Supplies:
I was bored tonight so I decided to do it even though it was a little too cold.
To prep the Garden Edge I cut the top edge off because it had some sharp lips made to keep it from being pulled out of the ground. Now I had a flat edge to work with!!
Here is a before shot. This was all done in a commuter lot at in my college campus at 11:30 tonight.
First I did a mock up using strips of duct tape so I made sure I had it cut a little longer than I needed so I could trim if need be in the end.
After lining it up, I replaced the duct tape with the 3m tape.
The same was done to the passenger side as the driver side, which is shown below.
To make it stick well I had to rub it really hard to heat up the tape to make it adhere well. After getting it secure and trimmed I took more duct tape and taped the inside of the lip to the bumper in multiple places.
Here are the after pictures:
I'll get some pictures in the daylight tomorrow.
I did this in less than 20 minutes. I have enough left over and I'm happy enough with how this turned out that I'm going to make another that is actually cut correctly for the curve around the bumper because if you look at the front it actually curves up in the middle. I'm also going to tape it completely around the bumper and do it when its a little warmer out so the tape sticks easier.
enjoi!!
