SO, I finished rebuilding my motor and fixing all the little BS crap that I've been putting off for so long and now I am just waiting for the clutch to come in so I can stuff this ***** back in! Don't ya hate waiting? It has allowed me the time to go over everything several times and make sure it's good to go. But now I've done everything that I can think of to it, replaced all hoses and vac lines, finally removed all the egr doo-dads, I even tore open the wire harness to check for any breaks. I was interested to find some crappy spice work that was most likely the result of some recall or after-production modification. Anyone know anything about that? It looks like they added a valve or two on the intake manifold and I've seen the same type of splicing at the ECU. Whatever, I had to straighten that crap out. I've done everything that can be done and now I am forced to wait. Anyway, here is what I have up until now...

So all I can do is just sit and stare and hope that my clutch will come soon. :(

-I've cleaned out the engine bay as best as I can. Short of re-painting it or something, it's as good as it's gonna get.-I/C was mounted B4, I did move it a bit so that it will get better airflow across it. -Gauges and wiring were done from b4 also. I will be putting in a BTM but gotta wait for more $ to order it. -Car already has Ammoco Ultimate in it from B4, that's all I've run in it since putting the turbo on. -I did paint my valve cover. I even painted it silver and black to look just like factory, what a pain in the *** that was. -Watching a DVD requires being in the house away from the car. :rolleyes I could watch a tape on the TV in the garage but I don't really have any good movies on VHS. :)

I still have yet to replace some of my charge pipes, I'm going to make the hot side a little bigger. I'm waiting on the silicone couplings to come in for that.

What really sucks is that everything will probably show up this afternoon and I really can't funk with it until Wed or Thurs because I got too much to do for school in the next couple of days. I really want to put that thing in so I can go **** with some Z28 owners. :D

That turbo is sitting and aweful lot to the side. will it fit between the engin and the strut tower? Cuz I always thought we had little space there so it always had to be mounted up or down, not to the side... I may be smoking crack and my perspective on this may be off... but it just seems so much... stickig out to the side....is it just me?

It fits with room to spare. Same setup as I had b4.

I guess it just looks weird to me.... I'm weird so... lolI hope mine will fit ok too... it'll be more top mounted but not much more.

Also, why did you choose a hard line for your oil return line? That is usually recommended against, as there is flex and the hard line may crack or bend and hinder oil flow.

Also, is the hardline large enough?

Didn't think there would be alot of flex since the turbo and oil pan are connected by a huge piece of metal. It's 3/8" ID tube, which is what I had before. I know it should probably be bigger but it's been OK up till now. The only reason I put it on there was because I had a lot of trouble with my flexible one leaking at the AN fittings and this tube was already flared and almost a perfect fit. Your tax dollars at work, it came from an F-15's ECS package from when I was in the military. :)
