I'm waiting to get my tax return, and money from selling my ka, in order to buy aHolset turbo *hx35*Intercooler *evo 8 oem*BOV *IDK*intercooler pipingeManageGauges *Boost, A/F....*

None of this came with the RB i bought and it is still on the cherry picker. I have pretty much everything else in order to swap out the SOHC for the RB *High pressure power steering hose and lines courtesy of DJ****

Money is a big issue right now, and i'm hoping another grand will get me all those prerequisets listed above. I dont have a job right now, got layed off and its harder than ever to find anything right now. Been donating plasma, and close to having sex with 50 fat women for 100 dollars, or 100 fat women for 50 dollars(family guy, watch it)

I heard my RB20 run in the car it was in before, it took a few *a lot* tries to start, and ran rich enough it sounded like it had a miss. anyone know what it could have been? i probably shouldnt have bought it because the guy said that he didnt want to mess with having it compression tested and so forth, but i bought it anyway. i couldnt help myself when i heard it breathe fire. i got it for 1200

Now that im waiting for money, im wondering if you guys have any suggestions for me to do with the engine now that it is out of the car. It's already had gaskets replaced, timing belt has been changed, water pump is new, and idk what else

I just had an idea, the wiring was a mess!!!11! anyone know what i can do with it now? deal with it now? ill try and take some pics tomorrow of the harness and engine, and the 240. and prolly spend all nightdoing research.

i just dont want to be sitting here with my thumb up my *ss TIA

Forgot

255L/h fuel pumpELECTRIC FANS

just made a couple notepads full of my own drunken translations of swap info i found in the stickies, although the harness that came with my swap has already been in a DOHC, ITs going in a SOHC chassis harness...

thansk for your priceless advice lol, expect this to torn into a full swap thread.

What is your crank collar like? Keep the stock turbo for now. What about transmission / clutch, oil pump, thermostat, mounts, injectors, bearings? What are they cylinder walls like? What MAF? How are you controlling your e-fans (20A switch I assume)?

Carl H is your man to send the harness to. Wiring Gawd!

Issues before could have possibly been from leaky IC piping (at least partially).

Also, it's "100 fat chicks at $50 each, or 50 REALLY fat chicks at $100 each. Fat chicks need love too, but they gotta PAY!" :-D

I may also have a solution for your FMIC & piping..

I Didnt get a Turbo with my purchase

Transmission shifts good, but idk about the clutch. i could un bolt the transmission and inspect it. as for the internals of the engine, i'm going to assume stock and low mileage, since the car it came out of was just a weekend track car if that. I expect it to be broken in, but i know its not broken down.

i have a q45 MAF on the way,

money is the major issue right now, other wise i would have already stuck it in... giggidy heh heh alllllright

how much are you wanting for the piping? I already have a evo 8 intercooler. I didnt want to go with a ebay i/c, and i think if its good enough for OEM ~300 hp, that will be good enough for my goals.

ill have to do some research on the crank collar. i've read about it. and the major failure it could cause. TY!!

so i got myself a turbo now, but it's not one i see all the time, it came of a 96ish GM diesel, so what i gather from that... it is a 51t/32 borg warner.

It's not a divided inlet exh. housing, but evidently it is a t3 flange. compressor housing is 2.75" inlet, 2" outlet

Ive cleaned it up a little, and from what i can tell, its a gm4 turbo, but i dont cant find any real specs on it yet. if anyone has any input on these turbos, lmkTIA

well, since this turb is a upgrade, i will have to upgrade the fuel injectors as well... Ill be going for 300hp, and i think some gtr injectors should get me there safely. Then i will also have to get a resistor box wired in/

I want to be at around 12psi

eManage is garbage and doesn't actually 'Manage'. I like the HX35, and I like a lot of diesel truck turbos, provided they are sized properly to the engine. Do you know how to read turbine flow rate charts and compressor maps? The turbine on the turbo you have is all wrong. If you are drifting you will need good transient response. Why not get the stock engine running before changing a bunch of things?

You don't need a BOV. Find a stock diverter valve off something, and plumb it in.

Why spend all this money especially since your engine "sounds like it has problems"? If it were my car, I would get the engine in, wired correctly, and running, then troubleshoot any pre-existing problems before trying to cover them up with a large unresponsive diesel truck turbo and "MOAR FUEL".

thanks for the reply sam, I was originally *ever since i had planned on boosting the ka* looking for a hy35 locally, but no one wants to get rid of them. Came across this turbo, and picked it up for 275 bucks. I'd be happy to trade it for a t28 off a gtir, or even a hy/hx, but dont want to have to spend more money shipping and so forth. Basically, this turbo is just so i can swap the engine in, and do exactly as you stated in your post.

I havent found any charts or specs for this turbo, other than what i have measured myself. the compressor turbine is a 51mm *i guess thats why it says 51t* 6 fin, so its not large, but it is looking like its a titanium wheel. I dont kno what the WG functions at, and am still in the process of searching for that info.

**edit** so it is basically a t3/t4 with a .63 a/r, like the garrets
