Rb20_POWERhttps://forums.nicoclub.com/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=113Wait, is this the proper way to install FPR/GAUGE???Fri Feb 05, 2010 6:37 pm
I've had the same FPR installed on my rb20det but have read that the gauge is suppose to be installed on the return line and not feedline to get a proper reading. Can someone verify this??? Thanks for the help guys!

You need on the feed line between the fuel filter and injectors because you need to measure the pressure the injectors see, not what goes back to your gas tank.

Fuel pressure regulators go on the return line not the feed... even oem is like that, the fuel enters the rail and gets to the regulator which controls the pressure and lets the extra fuel back into your tank via the return line on the regulator.
Feed line only has a fuel filter on it and a direct connection to your fuel rail.

ok...so now u guys are making it even more confusing. Rustspec says the feedline, the link i provided says feedline, now virus77 says the goddamn return line which I had it on in the first place and have read before. NOW you can see why i'm confused. WTF!!!!

for a gauge, yes but for a regulator no
it needs to be on the return line because its going to regulate pressure
goes like this
tank > pump > filter > fuel rail/injectors > FPR > return to tank

FPR will always go after the rail. The gauge or where it reads off of shouldn't matter anywhere between the filter and the FPR (or on the FPR like most), but I guess the most preferred option would be after the rail. FPR after the rail 100% though. Like Joe said, if you need proof, just look at the factory set up.
