The fans are expensive, for just fans. Like 100-200 dollars. It frees up about 5-10 hp (Seems like that's what I remeber reading)

you can get cheaper electric fans w/ good quality for like 60-80 bux. They relieve some strain on the crank, and u can remove your fan clutch, not to mention they look better, and you can control when u want them on, so like before a run at the strip u can have it running and when u goto make the run turn it off.

They don't use horsepower to run.

ehhhh i highly highly highly highly highly highly highly highly doubt that going froim mech -> elec fan will free up 5~10 hp.

That means that the fan needs 5~10 hp to run... wtf.

The fan has a thermo coupler so it only kicks in hard when it is very hot. Even then I doubt it steals much power from the engine. Anyhow, I installed electric ones because it makes working on the car 10X easier.

I dunno about our 240's but on my 69' GMC that has a 350, i know when i installed elec fans it free'd up 7 hp, dyno proven among many of the bigger engines

i just ditched the clutch fan. all i did was wire the stock electric fan to a relay triggered by the fuel pump fuse and i am very pleased. engine is nice and quiet and it looks badass. besides if you removed your shrouds the mech. fan doesnt do **** anyways. and all for the cost of a relay and some 12 gauge wire and crimps....
