Has anyone actually checked when the vvt turns on and how long it stays on for-
This one comes on around 3000rpm (under load) and stays on until no load or under 3000rpm. Doesn't turn off at the 4600rpm the fsm says it should.

But that almost makes sense how the vvt engine made more power then the non vvt.
Through some tests the only time the retard to the intake valve makes more power is around 5000rpm-6000rpm.

The stock ECU has the VTC set for on/off at 4600 rpm. Engine must also be between 70-110°C (158-230°F) and engine must be under a load at least 45 TP (stock max load TP is 72). Unless you have the hardware and software to monitor your ECU tables you won't know what the TP is.

How are you monitoring whether VTC is on or off?

Well I was going to use it to help set the afr but it turns on around 3k and just doesn't turn off like it says it should at 4600 like it says it should, I think it is somewhere around 6k when it turns off now. Before it wouldn't even turn off at 6k.

By TP you mean TPS right? I check that and set it with a volt meter.
