hey i was just wondering why everyone says vvt gets in the way of modding a sr20det. i was talking with the guys at phase 2 and they said that if you want under 400whp it is easier to get power out of a s14 sr and if your looking for 400+whp car then the s13 is better. they also said that the vvt would actually give you a better power curve and more touqe. so i was just wondering why some many people say "get a s13 sr"?

they also said put hp aside because the both have the same potential in the end and what you should go by is what car you have, if you have a s13 get a s13 sr, if you have a s14 get a s14 sr.

oh and im hearing you shouldnt get a racing harness unless you have a roll cage. could you just get some kind of a roll bar?? i mean even if my car is in the 11's it would be a street car and a full cage is a little much mabey. but i would dig a racing harness for everyday driving.(summer car only and dont need to reach the dash cause it have no radio or air) oh and what if im short whitch i am? the roof would have to get really crushed to get me.

don't have an sr20, so i'm no expert, but I've heard it's just easier to tune when you the cam is the same all the time. A small sect of honda guys hate vtec, and the ones i've met are usually faster.

about the harness you need something to keep the roof from caving upon a hard flip/rollover situation. I don't think a rollbar you are talking about will help (the one that goes on bottom of rear floor?) as earlier post say as well, the seatbelt harness keeps you in your seat tight and upright. The factory 3 point allow for you to move your upper body sideways.

My brother use a harness for autocross to keep him in place, beleive me he corners hard! He has a Gardis 1 with Willans 4 point harness no roll cage but he puts them on his car a couple of days before an event to get use to the eyeline and harness and then he takes them off after the events.

In my opinion if you want harness then go for it. Everybody likes different things. There are warnings about smoking but people still smoke. If you think your chances of flipping over is an absolute minium then put them in. For me I don't like the harnesses not because the safty hazards but because I think they are quite uncomfortable compared to the factory harness.

To me I think you have more chances of dying by a drunk driver more then a 4 point harness. unless the drunk driver plows into which causes you to flip over on your roof violently.
