VUDU Wireless Kit Enables Whole-Home ViewingWi-Fi supports all VUDU functions, including instant-on for HD content, depending on bandwidth.

The new plug-and-play VUDU Wireless Kit creates a wireless network that allows the video download service to be used anywhere in the home.

A wireless base station plugs into the existing broadband router and a receiver plugs into the VUDU box to create secure 802.11g Wi-Fi.

All VUDU functions are supported by the Wi-Fi, including instant-on for HD content, depending on bandwidth.

This is yet another added feature to VUDU, which offers more than 6,000 titles directly to TVs. VUDU recently addressed several issues with the release of 1.5 software, which gives users discounted extended rentals on all movies.

"Following the rapid success and strong following we've already achieved for the VUDU box, we're now taking the next step to offer even greater convenience to video fans," says Patrick Cosson, VP of marketing for VUDU.

"Our customers have been asking for a wireless solution, and we've responded with a hassle-free and secure solution that does not require complicated configuration."

The VUDU Wireless Kit will retail for $79. A package including both the VUDU box and VUDU Wireless Kit is available for $349.

That's pretty cool. From the pictures it looks like a sleak/clean system, and wireless video is always great.

I couldn't really find any info on what video rentals for that would cost. Because the initial price sure isn't bad.
