I was just curious on whether it would be possible to put a s2000 motor into an '89 240sx cause, I have a conflict of intrests, I love my rear wheel drive but after test driving a new gsr integra I'v became a fan of vtec and the s2k motors are quite powerful so i think it would be cool to have and rather unique, but I guess if i cant do that i might just have to buy a cheap civic to drag, and drop a sr in the good old 240.

well why not:D , I doubt i will ever try it, i think i will just end up going the route of the sr20det but droppin the s2k motor in that car would be insane fun. Im gonna try and find an 4th gen civic to turn into a little saturday-night beater w/B16 and nitrous some great stuff im tellin ya

You'll regret the S2k motor the first time you try to race just about any turbo 240 ;) Especially a KAT or an RB25/26...lack of torque down low will own you!

They bumped the displacement of the S2k motor to 2.4 liters this year.. 240hp 162 torque - the torque still needs to be higher I think, but it's better than it was.. also, revving with full power to 8k just sounds like fun ;)

Now an awesome engine to swap would be..The AMG V12.. 612hp and 737torque o_O

But still.. I'd stick with der Nissan engine

I knew that one day I would see someone suggest this....but WHY? maybe just for a project, but thats disgracing the torquey KA with a honda engine! Well, if you ever do it, good luck, I know I would never do it, but to each his own

Well, if you don't think it can be done, it's been done in a AE86 so I figure it can work with the 240...

man, every engine under the sun has graced the ae86 chassis.

ive seen a 12a hatchi here in the states, a video of a 86 with a turbo 20b in it (omg, fastest thing ive ever seen) and ive even heard of ppl putting sr20s in there.

i thought the new ones got bigger engines.

and the reason it lacks on the torque side is because the car is more for grip.

and the honda v6 engines have a good amount of torque.

it seems that you guys are obsessed with 240's that you just bash on other cars. just like how domestics dont like imports. and you guys wonder why

Honda bashing is really gay.

i think itd be cool more for the shock appeal than the performance. i absolutely love the feeling of the s2k gearbox though. there is nothing i have felt even close to that...

2.2 is the bigger engine from 2.0... As for not enough torque, don't they have turbo kits now anyway? I know they've got a supercharger out..

the whole reason it came out called the s2000 was for the 2.0 litre engine. In '04 it got bumped to 2.2 for the torque but the redline was reduced with the new mass. The torque output is still low compared to horsepower and they do have turbo kits but that engine is just not good for that. It's compression is in the 10's or 11's. Ideally way to high for a turbo.

I like Hondas as the cars they are but I would have to say that the reason they get bashed on here so badly is because of all the ricers that give the guys actually doing their s*** right a bad name. Plus, I've never seen a Honda 4 cylinder with as much potential per dollar as a few of the nissan 4's.

the s2000 motor is sweet, especially with a turbo.i doubt you could do the swap for the price of a comparable nissan engine though.(although i doubt you're interested in the financial aspects)there was a B20powered RWD crx race car that held the dyno record in town for awhile.it had a thicker headgasket, but stock internals and put down 660 with a y2k turbo at 22psi or something along those lines.

yknow what motor you should try and put in there? a 13b. or even get as crazy as a 20b. that would be some crazyness. but then gas mileage would be worse. :P

Why did I even bother to read your post... nothing you say is ever worth reading in topics like this. As usual, another ignorant idiotic post.

My parents just test drove a S2000. That thing was pretty sweet. I'm not usually crazy about many Honda's, but I liked that thing. It would be interesting putting that motor in a 240, even though I'd rather have an RB.

THAT R FUNNY? RAWR!! ROFFLE... "IF YOU WERE GAY MAYBE" YAR YARY HEEHEHEHEHEHE

Wtf are we like 12?.. give me a ****in break, SEXUALITY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ENGINE CHOICE (maybe the color.. sparkly pink or something)

Anyways... speaking of Honda, what do you guys think of the new RL? It's about time friggin Acura redid this beast.. it looked so bland before.. but now she's got:

- 3.5 Liter 24 valve (VTEC) V6, 300HP- SH-AWD (Super Handling)- 5 Speed Sequential Auto w/ F1 steering wheel shifter paddles- 4 Wheel Disc w/ 4 Piston calipers & slotted rotors- 20" Rims [not bling.. I like 'em]

Some pics:

I think it looks great, and Acura has awesome gauges.. they're electroluminescent & fade in/out when the key is put in/removed.. nice and bright, very nice blue.. interior looks great, exterior looks great, the rear design is some what questionable, but again this is a huge change from what it was before. I don't think Acura can afford to make this car too bold as it's their flagship and must appeal to the older generation of drivers that are looking for a classy, not in your face vehicle.

Very pretty, fuzion. Honda makes some pretty damn good cars...just some of the people that drive them are sub-par on the humanity scale.

ugh, that acura is still bland, I hate HATE the short hood tall roof look....it looks like someone really screwed up when they tried to design a minivan...

it really looks a lot like the new accord too, especially the enormous gauges...

It is your money, do what you like and don't let other people influence your decision. If you want to get a 3000 dollar motor and stuff it in a 1500 dollar car with a whole lot of effort involved, then i say go for it! I can think of alot better things to do with 3000 dollars. I will never get why people want to make these cars so fast and swap motors all over the place. They are nimble and torquey enough to get around mountain roads and tracks quickly. If you need a little more, bolt on a turbo kit. If you want a really fast car, go buy something else like an old lotus or something.

I really should have stated better that I would have other things to do on the car for 3000 dollars. Like:

NA breather mods - go faster Turbo kit - go fasterCoilovers - go faster around cornersStiffening Braces - go faster around corners with more control

I don't know. Just doesn't make sense to me to spend a bunch of money on swapping a motor that isn't even made by the same folks and doesn't have a chance in hell of going in without extreme custom work. And for what? 240hp 162 torque? Come on guys, get real.

If you are going to do all that work, at least get more out of it.

It has to be bland, thats what the majority of buyers in that class want.. that's why the Toyota Camry is always so basic, most of the people who are purchasing that type of vehicle want that sort of thing.. Thats why all of the MB cars are understated, and why you don't see a huge amount of the new Bimmer 7 & 5 series -- while they do look awesome and evil, it's not what most of the American population wants.. We're like sheep... ;)

Look at the old one, you can't tell me the new one doesn't look better..

it doesnt look better, i like this one its more VIP status then that other sure the new one has a better consol and better interior. but thats it. woo dubs... who cares... although it will lower the prices on tires for 20 inchers because it will be a more comon tire which is a good thing i suppose...
