VTC rebuilt approx. cost?

How much would it be approx. to get VTC rebuilt and will it last?I was thinking of bringing my car to nissan dealer and have it done, but want to see if it is worth the trouble.

the vtc's may not be the problem it might just be the solonoids. what is the problem? cost wise not sure ,dont know the price of the parts.

how long have they been making noise.. if not to long they can be rebuilt..

It's been going on for about a year or so, makes a clack clack sound. It sounds pretty bad, you can feel it when you touch the engine. it's like someone is taking a hammer to it on the inside, just pounding away. car runs pretty good even when that is going on. I tried to listen to it where the vtc is but it's hard to tell. but it seems to be where you fill the oil up.

what are symptoms of solonoids?
