As I know the first response will be search the posts.... I have done that. I have seen write ups on what to connect to the VSS, and the general direction of the VSS wire (behind the speedometer) But can someone please let me know in more detail where or what the VSS looks like exactly, and if possible a picture of one. I just got my D-3x package installed at a shop, and they did everything except connect my VSS wire. They told me they couldn't find it. I tried looking on here to perhaps print something out to give them, but couldn't find anything. So if you all could help me get something for them, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

real talk, your installers are 2nd rate hacks!!!!

i don't know how i could be any more clear than what i wrote in my write up, short of doing the install myself... tell your installers, if they can't figure this out from following simple step by step instructions, then they shouldn't be in business!

its the purple and white wire in position 31 on the harness connected to the back of the speedometer... how much more detail could they possibly need???

Thanks for the info... But as suprised as you are about there lack of knowledge on the subject.... Imagine how I felt when I asked them you're going to do the bypass on there right... and they said I'm not sure if they can do it on this unit.... As I replied well do you need me to give you step by step picture instructions... The guy answered, no, I'm sure the installers will know how.... Now this is all after he told me a couple weeks ago...that they had installed one in an 08' altima already.. So they're just dumb...But they were the cheapest around here...

Also, just to put the info out there, so I can vent... I picked it up yest night, and the little underneath plastic cover (above the center console) was on the floor, so I just propped it back up there so it fits, sign#1. Then I turned on the radio, and its real fuzzy. I'm listening to a station that was #1 on my previous preset, so I know it comes in clear, and its just all fuzzy. When I drive, it gets clearer, but even then the station, is not really as clear as it should be. When I'm parked, it gets worse. So I dont know what the hell they did, sign #2. Lastly, I go to hit my defroster, and now those two buttons stick when I press them. #3

So now I have to bring it back, and have them 1, hook up the VSS, 2, fix my damn radio, and 3, place it back properly so I can hit my defroster and not have to manually pop it back out to turn them off....

Went back to auto shop and gave him all the information I got off of here, and the information about the purple/white wire for VSS, and he said when they took my speedometer off and looked at that wire harness, pin 31 was not purple/white, but some other color. I have the 2.5 non bose package. Would the wire scheme be different?

the wire is supposed to be purple and white... in the 07 Altima sedans, its another color, but in the 08 coupes, it is supposed to be purple and white... in any case, it is DEFINATELY pin 31, just tell them to splice the pink wire to the wire in pin 31, regardless of the color... oh yeah, you'd think they would already know this if they indeed installed a unit into an 08 coupe like the claimed they have... also, most installers have accounts with online companies that have correct vehicle wiring diagrams

Thanks for the quick response... I'll call them up tomorrow, and let them know..prob wont be able to get in there till Friday though, so have to deal with this for a few more days... But yah, thats what I said. They told me they were on the phone with Pioneer and Alpine for like 2 hours who gave them the same information you gave me, and they I guess stopped because the wire wasnt purple/white. But hopefully I can get this damn fuzzy radio situation taken care of too, cuz thats just annoying
